Ask a stupid question and it probably won't get answered.

my complaint is that we "settled" on someone who has a crap record as a head coach at his only stop as a HC..

I am still have not heard a better option? Who would have been better? Jimbo wasnt leaving and herman played us for Texas.... Who would you have preferred besides O? Guy bleeds purple and gold. Alleva tried for Jimbo and Herman O was 3rd on my list and i think will do a good job as long as week aranda and get a good OC.

So negaO people answer me this?quote:What is on O's resume to make me pro O? He did a decent job at USC as interim and LSU looked like a much better team as soon as he took over for Miles. But I agree that the resume doesn't fit the job. I hope he proves us all wrong.

This is all fact. My only concern of O is the Florida game because in my mind that game squarely fell on his shoulders and it is a joke we lost. I have no doubt that we will be a better program with him at the helm because we immediately improved this year, but I am not completely sold on the idea that he will get us to the level of Bama, OSU, etc.. Time will tell

Are you dense, that is just proof

The complaints are:

1). He can't fix our problems. If he hires an OC that is great, they will be hired, he will need to hire retreads to have stability and be able to recruit

2) he can't fix the D, he is dependent on coordinators. The same as Miles.

3) he was unemployed 22 months ago

4) he walked out on USC after being passed over
5) he is friends with Kiffen
6) he was HC once and failed miserably, cutcliffe and Nutt coached circles around him

He literally wouldn't be a candidate for a job above the FCS. And that would be a stretch

Name 1 time in Coach O's coaching history at any level for any team that he beat a team with equal talent to the team he was coaching. I'll wait.

so if we find great other coaches, our bad coach can hide behind them.

Fact: Miles and Cameron lost the team and coach O did a great job under the circumstances of keeping the team together.
Fact: LSU currently has some of the best talent in the country so the interim coach's job was to motivate the players and let the Asst Coaches coach.
Fact: Alleva's responsibility was to secure the best coach available; we are a premier football power house...Alleva did not do his job

You mean the same guy that couldn't stand LSU and recruited LA talent away from LSU all the sudden bleeds purple and gold all the sudden.

I would have taken a too-early flier on Fleck, or even promoted Aranda, before I went for Coach O.

Thoughts?

Before the Season began LSU had 4 weeks to INSTALL it's offense.

After Miles was fired LSU had 8 weeks to CHANGE it's offense.

NO, THE COMPLAINT IS HE WAS A HEAD COACH AND FAILED. HE IS THE WORST HEAD COACH AT OLE MISS IN THE LAST 20 YEARS. HE FAILED AS A HEAD COACH AND WAS NOT PURSUED AS A HEAD COACH FOR 10 YEARS AFTER THAT POINT.

THATS WHY WE DONT WANT HIM AS HEAD COACH. THATS THE frickING REASON WHY. IM YELLING THIS.

I'll admit my 1st choice was Fisher, was not sold on Herman.
There was a coach that was awful in his first shot as HC . Went 36-44 from 91-95. Did not get another HC job for another 5 yrs . In his 1st yr in his 2nd shot of being a HC he went 5-11. That coach is Bill Belichick, the BEST HC in the NFL , Now I'm not saying Coach O is a Belichick , but you can't always judge a coach on their 1st HC job and Ole miss was TEN YEARS AGO , and since then he had a good run as the temp at USC . Those of you that say we'd have done the same this yr with Miles ? You are delusional!!! We would have lost by MORE to bama and probably to AR and who knows what other games Miles would have blown .
