I just can’t imagine us paying him the same money, or even more money, for as long as he has left. He essentially has the difference as his buyout.

He's always wanted the LSU job, has strong ties to Louisiana, and is good friends with Woodward.
But I just don't know why he would leave A&M at this point. Unless he really just absolutely hates College Station.

You're right. It's highly likely he doesn't even come close and immediately dismisses the idea first chance he's asked.

I would 1000x's rather have Aranda or even Napier over Fisher. The multiplier would be even much higher for Fickell!

I can't see him being able to field the teams at A&M that he could in Baton Rouge. I think the fact that he's from the area, and it would be his coming home party or dream job, would give him reasonable cover to leave. If I were a gambling man, I would say this is going to be the move. Especially after what Jordy Culotta said on his show a few days ago about Woodward going after a huge fish that's already established.

if i remember correctly its because its a fully guaranteed contract so he gets paid the full contract even if they fire him
no way, we dont want him here, but if you did you would have to pay his full contract there first and then give him an even bigger contract here and most likely he would be asking for another fully guaranteed contract with no buyout
