Franchione got fired because his little newsletter violated his contract so we were able to drastically reduce his buyout price. Plus it gave the brass a reason to not look like bad guys because they're all a bunch of pussies.

Not hot enough... We all want him gone, but we have some boosters who are so used to losing that all they want is access to the program. They donate, they get that access with Sherman, and that is all they care about. Sherman's arse should have been gone after Arkansas this year. I don't think he is going anywhere for at least another year unfortunately... I want him gone as badly as anyone does. It is painful to watch his putrid predictable offense. You can watch 10 minutes of game tape and know what we will run all game every game the entire season. I am fuming just typing this. In a time where Aggie fans should be hyped about moving to the best conference in the NCAA, all we have to look forward to is the time we finally decide to hire a new coach.... I pray every night Sherman experiences non life-threatening health issues and is forced to retire and we can opt out of the stupid contract Byrne signed him to

they won't fire him this offseason IMO - changing coaches in the same year you change conferences is viewed as being too disruptive

So he will be there another 1-2 years if he doesn't improve

was the most common complaint I heard about 1000x all day. That was the first time all year I've actually watched an entire game, and the play calling was some of the most un-inventive I've ever seen. I dont know that I can recall the last time I've seen a play that didnt work the first 6 times it was run, only to keep going back to it again another 10 times. Crowton's bubble-screen had less predictability than that.

pretty sure RC was fired before they decided they weren't going to a bowl game.

I have talked to him before about it and he said wanted to coach in a bowl game but it was out of his hands. I doubt it was to protect his record.




@ Uncle Stu, I think most people want him to get an OC b/c we are resigned to the fact that he will be here next year no matter how many people are pissed off.

The dude got a damn 7 year deal as the only coach interviewed in a "nation wide" search that lasted all of 2 days. Whoever he has behind him is not going to eat crow on the hire just yet.

Hell, it took Fran getting caught selling information about the team to specific donors to gain the political capitol to fire him. Unless Sherman has some crazy skeletons or an NFL team comes calling for him as an OC I don't see him going anywhere.


and yes, his offensive playcalling is extremely predictable and his entire philosophy if very suspect. He does not play to his teams strengths and actually exacerbates our weaknesses with his hurry up offense.

He openly claims he does not see time of possession as an important thing to win. Never mind that anyone with a brain can tell you that if you are up big in a game, you should slow things down to burn clock and keep your defense, one that you know is weak against the pass, off the field.

About half of our INTs this year came off of long sideline passes on comeback routes to Jeff Fuller who, according to reports, was playing all year with turf toe and a bad hammy. Gee, what do you think will happen if you keep running your best WR on the same route over and over when he is injured and lacks the ability to properly come back hard for the ball? I'm only spit balling but maybe, just maybe, the opposing teams CBs are going to start jumping those routes?


even more maddening is that we would have actually been better off running the ball up the middle for no gain the entire 3rd quarter and playing field position with Texas b/c their offense was pretty much doing nothing all game long. It honestly felt like half of the Texas game plan was to simply sit back and let us throw the game away with passing the ball too much and hoping for a few picks.
