I thought the guy was retiring. He will be huge if he is allowed to do his thing at Texas.

Would not say no to him being on staff. Very stabilizing hire for Texas. Sark gets canned and he is the new coach. Wonder if he is thinking a future AD type job?

He's been with the Texas staff for the last week or two. I think he is going to have a much bigger role than your normal analyst but his main priorities are fixing this piece of shite defense and showing Sark what halftime adjustments look like. Also, we have almost no Texas guys on this staff and he has 25 years of relationships with Texas high school coaches. Gary would would be miserable in retirement and he really wants his name attached to a national title.

As I said an absolute great pick up by Texas. This can really be a good thing for them. Dynamics between him and Sark will be crucial but if they can figure out that relationship look out.

This pick up will legitimately help Texas enter the SEC and get recruits/transfer portal players to Texas. We can laugh all we want but Texas in the SEC is going to be a thing to be competed with.
