When they were looking for a HC to assist them in finding one. This is all to fishy to me. Who the hell does that - seriously. I mean did Miami call Jimmy Johnson for some input, did OU call Barry Switzer, did Florida call Steve Spurrier? I mean seriously.

actually skip asked him who we should hire and he said Nutt always had his team plays the hardest. We interviewed Nutt thanks to Saban. So there ya go.

Florida probably did call Spurrier because he played there. Saban-Kent State, Johnson-Arkansas, Switzer-Arkansas. It is quite logical.

I have to agree that it sounds strange that Les would be on a conference call with the Mich AD and Mich President to talk about their search.

Les's statement clears up any speculation but you have to admit that was kinda strange.

Miles went to Michigan!!!!!!!! Saban is a Kent State alum. Not quite a parallel analogy there fella. And no its not odd that they would contact Les for his opinion.

I think it's very strange. I don't find it strange that he's assisting, but I don't think they called him and told him, "We're not interested in you, but can you help us find a coach?"

Skip DID ask Saban for his input, chill out.

Les is UM alumni, knows the coaching circles. Put yourself in his shoes. You've got a great job, Skip calls for advice on who LSU should hire. You wouldn't take the call?

If I was coaching somewhere else and LSU was "home" then Skip better not call my arse asking for help unless he offered me the job first.

That sounds fine for a casual call for some advice. Having the school pres on a conference call just sounds official enough to sound odd.

Obviously it was on the up and up, but still seems a bit unusual.

I think that already happened, & Les turned them down. So now he's helping.

Just my two cents on the matter. Figure he'd already been crystal clear to UM Admin that he's staying at LSU. And that he still loves Michigan and wants Michigan to succeed.

And he's got some Street Cred when it comes to hiring college football coaches. Maybe he's opening their eyes to some lesser known coordinators or 1-AA coaches. Maybe advising a "pay for play" contract offer like he has.

After all, I doubt many of the top boosters at UM know as much about being a coach as Les. I'm just sayin...

One of the historically top five programs in college football is using Les to scout 1-AA head coaches?

They are looking pathetic but not quite that bad yet I think.

Great point. So why is Michael Vick sent to prison for killing dogs when the Humane Society kills millions of dogs every year? Huh? What about that one?
