Im sorry I will be perfectly honest.. I dont want a black coach.. Not because of the color of his skin but because IF it doesnt work we CANT fire him because he is black. Its a situation that hurts all black candidates which they bring upon themselves. NOT until a black coach can be fired for not doing their job will there be an equal playing field. Many people called ND racist because they fired Willingham and still call them so because they havent fired Weis. SO the schools that unlike nearly every other school that hires a black coach is now racist 
ND will always catch slack for that and have Al and Jessie on them. Now look what UCLA's coach is saying..
Does he feel as if he is not getting a fair shake because he is black?
Yea HAS NOTHING to do with the fact that your team SUCKED and lost to that same ND team.. Has nothing to do with his horrible coaching ability.. Its because he is black...
Why would I want LSU to go through that? We live in Louisiana if Croom didnt work out we would have to let him continue to lose for many years or else have 5 million people marching through our streets calling us racist DESPITE the fact that we gave him an opportunity to succeed in the first place.
When these coaches STOP playing the race card at every turn then you will see Universities give more coaches who may be great coaches an opportunity. Until then its a major gamble.

Has absolutely ZERO to do with having a coach with a certain skin color.. EVERYTHING to do with being caught in a situation and the coach himself bringing up race that you cant get out of. I dont give a rats arse what color your skin is NOBODY should have a foot up on ANYONE else. But REALITY of the situation is that people like you think...

The same can be said for Fulmer, Spurrier, Brooks, Weiss, etc.

I heard that one of the reasons that Croom didn't get the Bama job back when they hired Shula was the concern that if he had to be fired, there would be the racial backlash.

Think about it.. If UCLA of all places cannot fire their coach without racial backlash what happens when an Alabama, Mississippi or Louisiana school tries to fire their coach when they dont win? Croom hasnt exactly made MS ST into a good team. Sure this year they have been ok. The last few years they have been worse than Vandy. Now I like the guy. He is a class act and an ok coach. I want to see the guy turn that school around. But LSU?? Only reason I would like to see that would be because the guy has class and seems like a great person. Just too hard to tell if he would be a winning coach for us and not worth the risk.
I dont even think the guy would ever play the race card. But too many other people would for him.

Like I said and repeat when there have been a march due to a Black person being fired. My case have been proven. If you dont't like a Man of Color being a coach, just admit too it; It's ok to be true to how you feel. Sly Croom is a damn good coach, but people will justify why he doesn't deserve an/or qualify for this opportunity.
But we can justify to other coaches whom don't coach outside of the "Third Conference of the NFL" That there are good coaches, whom we don't know anything about, other than there name.
If you give Croom access to LSU and The City of Baton Rouge to sell; We will be a "True Powerhouse"; But I forgot; He's too dark, too fat; haven't been a head coach long enough, he's a bama man, he's Al queda, he's Anti-Flynn; Haven't beat enough Top 25 teams including LSU; Haven't been to a bowl game. You people haters can add some more too it!!

no you dumbass idiot. Saban went 9-2 his last year at MSU. they were on probation when he got there. and did well recruiting. He also was recognized as a very good DC in the NFL and never had a losing team as a head coach. You can't even put him in the same class with those other three BEFORE he got to LSU.
