Because if it is O then why wouldn't they at least wait until after the FSU game for a Hail Mary offer to Jimbo? Signs could point to Herman. Herman was rumored to have meetings scheduled with both UT and LSU today. Maybe the UT meeting was to tell them thanks but no thanks. I don't have any sauces, just trying to think rationally before I start melting over O.

I agree. Why announce O today? We don't need to play that card yet. It's not O has another offer on the table.

Timing certainly suggests Herman.
If he's negotiating between Texas and LSU, it makes no sense for him to flat out turn down LSU (prompting LSU to announce O today) even if he wants the Texas gig. He'd want to draw it out as long as possible.
