You'd have passed on Urban Meyer if you were the UF AD
Urban was not 7-23 as a head coach at those schools. His record was much better. Nothing sticks out on Shoop. I've been knowing about him since 2007 and nothing is remarkable about the guy. Again, his brother would help LSU more.

Yeah, Shoop > CP. The numbers support this big time. Not that CP isn't a good candidate, but it's hard to ignore what Shoop did with lesser talent in the SEC at Vandy.

There's one in every group. You are he in this one. 'grats

As others have said, Shoop is probably just using this as leverage for a better deal at Penn State.
If he were hired, the solution to the coaching shuffle would be to let Peveto take over the LBs (which he's coached before) in addition to ST. I know how popular that will be with the board.

I think you're trolling. But just in case, read this thread in its entirety.
Shoop is BEAST

It helps in recruiting by bringing more wins and championships to LSU.

I'm just going to mention the following from his bio at Vandy. Everyone prepare to fap:

Shoop's attacking squad also performed well in third down situations. In 2012, the unit ranked fifth in the SEC - and 25th in the NCAA - in third down success.

I believe he also recruited heavily in the northeast when he was at Vanderbilt. This is a salary & contract extension move by him. He just moved to Penn State last year.
Bill Clarke is the guy to watch.

I like Shoop a lot. He has obviously fielded good defenses, yes, but I like how his teams have always seemed to generate a lot of turnovers. Would love Shoop + Ed O while moving Ensminger or someone to admin until the extra coach rule kicks in- whenever that may be.
Yeah that's the dream scenario.

Also this:
LEADER.
Dammit I'm all in for Shoop.

Shoop played collegiate football at Yale. He earned All-Ivy accolades in 1987 as a receiver and was recognized with Yale Football's prestigious Robert Gardner Anderson Memorial Award for team spirit, dedication and leadership.

I'm not trolling just stating facts. So I guess he would have the same numbers or even better playing a LSU schedule vs the schedule he had at Penn State. Go check out that schedule Penn State had. You are comparing apples to oranges.

Look at Vanderbilt in the SEC and the talent they had compared to LSU's.
Top 20 defenses nationally playing in the SEC with VANDERBILTS talent.
