if I was in Scott Woodward position, the selling points im giving to Lincoln Riley is

"CAN WIN PLAYOFFS GAMES AT LSU" with the talent LSU can get. Oklahoma made it four times to the CFP and cant get over the hump to win one.

for Recruiting Louisiana is surrounded around rich talent in the state, just build a wall around Louisiana and LSU brand itself will recruit the best out of state.

LSU will throw money to hired a top DC!

its not gunna get easily to win when Oklahoma transitions to the SEC!

I Know this is my first time posting and I Know get shite for this, but Im always on tiger rant just never made a account until now

Geaux get him SW!!

I would use the first playoff standings. OU is undefeated but 8th with 3 one loss teams ahead of him. One of those teams plays in the Pac 12.

Do you honestly believe he has resigned himself to the fact that he can’t win a NC in Oklahoma? And I’m not sure you can be the 4th straight coach to win a NC at LSU—hell, even 2 retards did it—is a very good selling point at all for him. Actually, I think it’s a reason not to come. I’d think an NC in Oklahoma for the 1st time in over 20 years would be much more gratifying than one at LSU.

And dude has roots in Norman. Wife, kids, friends, neighbors, church—whatever. Is an extra couple million a year—which OU would surely match anyway—worth uprooting all that for—and the same with his staff—to come to LSU, where you can literally be fired a season and a half after having the greatest college football team of all time?

Unless he hates something about his current situation that we don’t know about, I don’t think he’s realistic.

Love the enthusiasm so won't give you any shite. I don't think LSU has a shot at Linc because he's not interested.

He has a great young QB at Oklahoma to work with for at least the next two years.

It's not going to be at LSU either. Plus his job security is probably much better at Oklahoma.

If he is confident he can win it all at Oklahoma yea he stays and winning a NC in Oklahoma will be more special than win it at LSU and I agree with the family and roots he has at Oklahoma

the firing of a coach after winning the NC a season and a half ago, it needed to be done, ED clearly is not a good head coach just caught lighting in a bottle in 2019

Just Make him say NO!

Here's the catch-22 related to that...

IF he were to think that way he lacks a competitive desire which makes him less attractive as a coach.

Any coach that close that many times (including as a coordinator by the way) who says "screw it, I'm outta here" is not only blaming someone else for his lack of full success but will likely make a habit of it.

So Scott's difficulty would lie in making him think that he'll never win a NC at OU but at the same time frame it in a way that he's not giving up on OU. That's a tough one.

Until Riley shows he actually cares about defense, then hes simply a great OC.

His teams literally only play half the game.

That won't work because OU is about to join the SEC
