Didn't think about that...

But Loeffler is a qb guru

what is his claim to fame for a quarterback? Tebow had to completely rebuild his whole throwing mechanic to get drafted. Who else has he coached?

I'm talking mechanically speaking. Loeffler did nothing to Brantley nor Tebow's mechanics for years. He has an innovative mind though as a play caller.

Why did it take so long to make this hire?

This. A little disappointed right now honestly. I'm sure most Auburn fans felt that the delay was waiting for an NFL guy to decide much like our defensive hire. Perhaps this guy is the fall back and at the last minute the NFL guy turned it down?

Heisman winner?

Also, he was Cam's coach for 2 years...I bet that has something to do with his hiring as well.

I think if I were Trooper I'd be pissed. Trooper has proven himself and should have recv'd an opportunity.

I'll say this about Loeffler; I'm not a big fan of his, but his he called a heck of a game for UF in the '09 Sugar Bowl.

I don't know shite about this guy but he coached Tebow and Tebow had to overhaul his throwing mechanics just to get drafted as a quarterback.

Not sure about the hire but I am irritated as hell waiting 5 weeks for a college guy we could have had in place for 2 or 3 weeks recruiting.

I don't know man. They're still trying to overhaul Tim Tebow's throwing mechanics. I'm not sure you can put that on him. As for my reaction I'm apathetic. I just hope his offense doesn't require a qb with the physical presence that Malzahn's did.

I don't really dislike the hire, just the way it was done. I realize he was probably a fall back guy, but it took way too long to hire someone.

no, just not impressed with Pease... i don't mind the hire, just wish it would've happened three weeks ago...

regardless, the timing won't matter in the long run.

I tend to agree with you on this one. Even if Troop was moved to OC for a year and bring in someone as a quarterback coach.

I wonder if this is a full OC position or if Luper or Trooper get a Co- title?

Only ammo for extraodinarily stupid people. He coached Tebow 1 year, Tebow's last at UF. NFL guys have tried for 2.5 years to change Tebow's throwing motion he has used his whole life with zero success.

That's fine. Fact of the matter is though, Pease is more proven than Loeffler as an OC. I'm not saying Pease will end up being better than Loeffler, but if you don't like the Pease hire, than you sure as hell cannot be happy with the Loeffler hire.
