How do you know that Fickle would’ve taken the job? Maybe he told them no

Maybe Fickell said no, but I doubt it considering this timing and the rumors Sark has been the target for a while.

Just a horrible year to make a head coaching change IMO

If he said no to Texas, what job would he be waiting for? Coaches goals are to have jobs at marquee schools with premier opportunities. Texas is that.

I disagree with this. Sark is a great coach. Anyone in football circles knows this. His drinking was his problem, and Saban really helped him get back on the straight and narrow. He excelled under Saban unlike Kiffen. Players love him. Saban praises him. I think he'll be great for Texas and the Big XII. OU should be shaking in their cleats at this news.

Texas is f*cking toxic to be at. Bunch of pissy Billionares running that program

He isn’t the recruiter Texas needs and has shown an inability to handle the stress of the big job and there’s arguably no job more stressful than Texas because of the boosters and their quick trigger.

After watching fickle miss manage the clock yesterday and giving that game to Georgia I would take Sarkisian in a heartbeat over fickle.

Yeah but texas is different.

Fickell doesn't look like he would mesh with texas

Sometimes fit matters.
Texas seems like they want that offensive coach.

Sark reminds me of herman except he is a way better offensive coach. As a head coach, very similar

Doubt boosters want a Cincy guy even though he's a good coach. Sark has the big brand names under his belt and the bama seal of approval.

How can people misspell Fickell's name over and over

It's not fickle

Very few coaches fit Texas. Gotta have the force of personality and the resume to stand up to boosters. That type of coach is almost always locked up at a top 10 program anyway.

The more I think about it, Fickell probably isn’t ready for that. At least get a P5 job first.

If I'm a UT fan, Sark neither thrills nor horrifies me. Reminds me of the kind of safe coordinator-to-HC hires you see all the time in the NFL.

Kiffin excelled at Bama. On paper as a head coach Sark is equal to Herman. Texas is betting on Saban having made Sark into a better head coach.

Fickell will be in the running for the Michigan job soon. Or possibly Penn State if Franklin leaves for USC.

Offense is the name of the game right now.

Sark is one of the best minds out there, they got the money to burn to take the chance

Fickell isn’t going to take that job. I bet any amount of money on it

Everybody in the Big 12 can play offense. Sark has to run a program now. Big difference.
