So you block someone from getting a huge pay increase and expect him to do his job while being pissed at you? Does not make sense. I think this report is going to end up being fake. If the Saints are trying to get money out of LSU and LSU balks, what will Payton and the Saints do with a guy who is mad and doesn't want to be there? This is dumb.

So the Saints are going to block him from a promotion and massive raise and then force him to stay on as a position coach? Excellent motivational tool for your employees.
Would definitely be self-defeating.

Surely Payton isn't that dumb. We know he's not that dumb. Now the Saints front office... that's another matter.

As often and the sheer quantity of contracts broken on a yearly basis in the NFL there's no way this isn't smoke to hide something else. What exactly they are smokescreening I have no idea, but it just doesn't make sense logically.

Do the Saints still get money from the state? If they do and are trying to screw the state’s flag ship university it might meet some opposition next time around. Just a thought.

Just language that needs to be agreed upon IF NFL comes calling again.

Why do so many people think Sean Payton holds any sway over coaches contracts?

Better yet, in a year when several people from the Saints are moving on, why do so many people assume Payton is holding a coach back for any reason?

Everything from actual people involved in reporting news have said this is a contract issue, but people just jump to Payton being petty.

You're asking a board full of retards from the rant to actually think for themselves. It won't happen.
