Heard some media (finebaum) and a couple others saying he's considering it

That's an interesting outside the box hire other than the obvious "Dabo."

I'm sure we'll go there first but why leave Clemson? He can be the Bear Bryant there.

Hell, he may already be.

I'd just like to see him coach and win somewhere else.

That's why I like Meyer; despite his flimsy excuses, I think it's cool that he hops around and we get to see a great coach in a fresh context.

I guess this counts as the official "Saban is retiring" thread for this year's rendition of the Coaching Changes board

I don't think he retires this year. Although, you can tell this year he looks as if he has aged quite a bit (maybe it's taking a toll on him).

Not this year. I think next year is his last though.

I'd obviously be fine with that. He wins everywhere immediately.

Saban will do gay porn before he retires on the downside.

He’s more likely to retire after winning it all than getting beat in the reg season. Hell that’ll just make him make adjustments.

He’s 68. If you say he is considering retirement every year, eventually you will be right.

I dislike this. I like continuity in sports. I like when both players and coaches stick around with one team for a long time. There’s something to be said about what Derek Jeter and Tom Brady did/are doing.

Cann't see him retiring, at least now. The man has absolutely no other interests. And can not see him going the ESPN talking head route, not with his personality.

Not a chance this year. He might have pulled the trigger if he'd won a championship, but he wont go out on a low note with a mediocre bowl in his final season.

Next years team won't have the experience to be competitive either. It will be at least 2021 before he rides off into the sunset.

I like this too and don't care about continuity with Urban.

Saban has all these titles with Bama and of course the one with LSU.

Urban probably can't ever match him on number so his method of being recognized could be doing it in three different conferences. That's an historic achievement that Saban won't have.

Hopefully Saban retires and enjoys time with his grandchildren. Maybe he’ll appear on gameday from time to time.
