Now *this* is embarrassing

The only thing embarrassing are comments like this. Fox sports event mentioned that Riley didn’t like the idea of OU going to the SEC…and you want that mindset at LSU or think he ever wanted to go here? LOL

Scott has his man, and Riley was never it. Be patient.

LSU has forgot their place…..
Before saban all y’all got is ‘58.
Then y’all fire two national championship coaches….
Who want to go to LSU and win a championship only to be fired in a couple years.

[quote]That he would run to a conference less challenging than the SEC to get to the playoffs like he had in the Big 12, but with OU moving to the SEC he jumping ship to the PAC../quote]

There’s some on this board that will blame Woodward and say how much this is embarrassing for LSU and even Oklahoma… But I would speculate that you’re the one that’s correct here.

If I’m a winner and that’s all that matters to me then I want to win conference and national championships. I want to beat the best coaches with the best players the game has to offer.

Riley knows that by leaving Oklahoma and going to USC allows him to continue enjoying the same amount of coaching success with the least amount of resistance. He’s young and isn’t ready or confident enough to put his coaching reputation on the line playing in the SEC West. The reason why the winner of the SEC and especially the SEC West win national titles if they make it to the playoffs is bc they have the deepest player talent and have the best coaching staffs.

So, I say good riddance bc we deserve a coach who accepts the challenge ahead and who’s confident plus willing to put their coaching reputation on the line.

It's really ironic - for weeks, everyone various people in the media said LSU would be guaranteed a big hire with Woodward, who is a "gangster", while USC would be more likely to end up with a less impressive hire and get embarrassed in the process.

Turns out it was the exact opposite.

You're crying about a coach who didn't have a bowl win in 5 NY6 Bowl appearances until last year when he beat Florida who lost at home to 5-5 LSU. Get a grip. Riley isn't even a good coach. He's an offensive coordinator who has won a very weak conference every year. It would've been a horrible hire for LSU.

Correct. Again, I have no idea who our coach will be, but Riley was not our primary target. Our original primary target is still our primary target. Nothing has changed

And then to ALSO choose USC over simply staying at OU

OU fans are giving him heat because he can't win the biggest games and because his three best seasons were all with QB transfers (Myafield, Murray, and Hurts).

The PAC 12 is probably the worst conference in football right now and has been for 2-3 years. Oregon is the only solid team in the whole conference.

The ACC is actually getting better with Clemson slipping, Wake Forest playing great, Pittsburgh being solid, and NC State being pretty good too.

He took an easier path for job security and since he's only 38 it's hard to blame him. He knows LSU would fire him if he didn't compete for the West every year. So it's hard to blame him.

I clearly got told the wrong school.

OU knew about this last weekend though. So they already have been prepping for candidates and is why Bob is coming back off duties from FOX.

You clearly were trolling. You listed flights and other details and now you want people to believe that you were just told the wrong name? LOL. Just admit you were trolling and move on.

All you rednecks convince yourselves that California is an unpleasant place, because *gasp!* there's LIBERALS!!!

Personally I would miss the Mardi Gras and the food etc, but for multi-millions I could visit often and have gumbo ingredients shipped... My gated community would keep the riff-raff away, hang some moss in the window to give my ocean view a Southern feel... I could make the sacrifice, LOL

Talent is the same 300 miles? Boy you is dumb. There is 5x more talent in a 300 mile radius from Baton Rouge.

Yes. I don't really have experience with the super rich parts where USC's coach would live because I'm not that rich, but it's a concrete jungle with horrific traffic.

So you didnt get the experience of living in mansions, beautiful women, great social life, low crime, beach life, 5 star dining? Damn I wonder why you woulx choose living in Baton Rouge over LA. Guess the tigerland/lauberge life is just that amazing. This dude is in his freaking 30s.

The actual USC job is also pretty shite. Their conference has a terrible TV deal, is bad in general, their facilities are bad, and the fan base doesn't give a frick unless you're a dynasty.

Why the frick would the coach give 2 shits about a fricking tv contract while working in LA? It has no impact on USC recruiting and the school is always talked about whwn they are good. Obviously his salary isnt an issue. Yes they have bandwagon fans but if hes the coach that everyone thinks he is, rhey should be good in no time and the bandwagon fans will be back.

Its a great job.
