They won so much they had 3 winning seasons!

What's your definition of winning quite a lot? They won a bunch of games the three years they actually won more than they lost.

I mean. I'm not going to give a rookie coach with a rookie QB a lot of grief for going 13-19 in their first two years - especially considering they were 2-14 the year prior.

They then won 3 straight division titles.

Did have a down 6-10 year in 2016.

Went 11-5 in 2017.

Cam has been dealing with injuries ever since.

He's a 2 time COTY and made the playoffs 4 times. Compared to where the Redskins have been for the last 20 years and considering they just fired Bruce Allen the Redskins really could not have done better.

Again, who else were they going to get? No thanks to Marvin Lewis.

Bro, they had 3 winning seasons in 9 seasons. That's not good. Ever.

They are the epitome of an underachieving NFL football team over the last 9 years. They only won more than 7 games 3 times. That's not good. Not even okay. That's fricking BAD. Bad.

I mean I'm sure they'd take a 7-8-1 division championship. Let's not act like that's some great accomplishment by the HC, though.

When it comes down to it they had 2 good years out if 9.

That's stability alright.

The Redskins have probably the least respected front office in the league, basically zero success in two decades, and a fan base that has actively deserted them.

Rivera is likable and well-respected as a man across the NFL. It’s a good fit in that respect.

The bottom line is that the Redskins need to walk before they run.

Well they don't call him Riverboat Ron for nothing. They better learn to swim.

Skins also fired Bruce Allen this morning

Damn, the rumor yesterday was he was being reassigned within the organization. Redskins might actually turn things around with Allen out of the building.

3 good years with a 4th mediocre year winning another division title.

Yeah, and given that I don't fault him for going 6-10/7-9 after the Panthers were 2-14 neither will the Redskins if he has a similar record in 2020/2021. If the Redskins can get to the playoffs 4 times and win 3 division in 4 of the next seasons you better believe the Redskins will be happy considering they've been 4 times in the last 20 with exactly 1 playoff win over that time.

And again, I'm not acting like Rivera-Haskins is about to be Brady-Belichick 2.0, but considering the dumpster fire that has been the Redskins franchise I'm really not sure they could've hired anyone better.

Ron Rivera and his wife Stephanie are on a flight to Northern Virginia. He should be the next coach of the Redskins within the next 3 hours.

I need to see what else happens before getting too excited about this hire. Need a new GM and all new staff. Lots of players need to go. Wouldn't be surprised if half the roster is flipped. Need an offensive system to highlight Haskins, if he is still the future. They really need to resolve the whole stadium issue and give the team a true home field advantage again. Just a huge offseason that will determine the fate of the franchise..

Everyone seems to forget the elephant in the room. The owner.

A lot of the dysfunction in the front office has been traced back to Bruce Allen. Dan Snyder isn’t as involved with the day to day operations as someone like Jerry Jones.
