FWIW, I agree with this.

Yes. WE pressure Mallet on first and second down all first half and he shits the bed on every pass. Then on 3rd and 15s we rush 3 and get raped repeatedly as Mallet sits back there for 7 seconds waiting for a receiver.

The only thing improved this seasons by Chavis was red zone defense and linebacker play. Overall we need to be better . I would not cry if he walks.

or just promote Coop to DC and get a new LB coach (and prob DL coach too since Brick's the Chief's protege and all)

I haven't changed my opinion since he was hired. It's better than what we had and a safe hire, but we could have done better IMO.

Interesting idea, but I don't think it happens at LSU.

If it came down to it..

Is it sad that I would rather keep Cooper than Chavis?

Yesterday on a Tiger Talk Show in Alexandria, Mike Scarborough said that he heard Cooper and Chavis weren't getting along and that he didnt know if Cooper would be back next year.

Anyone know more about this?

Ron Cooper is a whiny bitch and a cancer to every coaching staff he is on. As a South Carolina fan/student, I am glad y'all took him off our hands. Dude thinks wayyyyyyyyyyy too highly of himself and believes he should be handed positions that he has never even been close to earning.

People who parrot this must have missed the consecutive blitzes where we got gashed for big gains on a quick pass and a draw.

Chavis' defensive scheme won the game on 2nd down where Lavar Edwards batted down a pass in the flat on a 3 man rush.

I would blame the athletes, not the scheme, at Notre Dame...

Bingo!!! We have a winner. Think about it, if I was Cooper, I would be so pissed at the schemes Chavis puts up that puts his DBs in a bind.

But, would a better Dline solve that problem? Completely?

Me, I've had about all the 3rd and Chavis I can stand. 3rd and 20 and the teams gets a first down with the game on the line.

Gary Patterson, and he is in the midst of signing a long extension as the head coach. LINK
