I know everyone is playing gotcha with this but if he would lose that would help. They don't make the playoffs and we can announce him right after the regular season. Also I don't know why people act like a coach isn't allowed to lose. Kirby hasn't won anything ever. Saban lost to unranked A&M. Difference with Riley and Napier is Riley has won in a big conference and is a offensive guru. Our offense and QBs would be set. Also I mean he has made the playoffs 3 times. Two loses to Georgia and Bama weren't blowouts. He knows what he needs to do to get over the hump.

People seem to be forgetting this dude is starting a true freshman QB at that. Caleb Williams wasn't going to keep lighting teams up. Expecting him to turn Williams into something elite a few games into the season is just stupid. These struggles would happen with Williams at some point.

I grade Riley on OU vs SEC, that speaks for itself. Even O beats up on Florida. Are we that sure that the Big 12 is that much better than the Sun Belt? Texas has made the case that they are probably suited to compete there vs the SEC.

Caleb Williams seems cocky as hell. I mean I guess I don't blame him, but it's off-putting.

He was smiling and laughing it up after it looked like his team was going to go down 14-0. Then he was still smiling after his INT.

Riley also hasn’t had access to the defensive talent in the SEC. Get a legit DC and pull in those recruits at home and see what will happen. Id take the risk purely based on his expertise of the offense. Riley + Howard will be fun to watch.

People shitting on Riley because they want Napier also point out that Saban lost to UAB and ULM when propping up Napier as Saban

It's hilarious to see the hypocrisy.

Works both ways pal. Moral of the story : everyone has an opinion on who they want and no one knows shite about who would be better.

Bring Rattler back in

Herbstreit was maybe a wee bit premature with anointing Williams as the face of college football

Yeah but it is a good point to show how absolutely idiotic it is to say “look! He won a game by a point! Haha! You wanted to hire him!”

I think most of us spin it however it fits our opinions.

OU loses this and us Riley supporters can say, "well he probably had LSU on his mind."

OU should still bounce back in this second half, but we shall see. I want them to lose.

Outside of Saban, my #1 actual want is not even being considered (Freeze.) So I am team Riley by that default. Still think he would crush it at LSU, regardless how OU does.

Hook line and sinker. Lol. You guys are so predictable.

No doubt Riley would be any sane persons choice. But he is not coming, they can match any money we throw at him, and he is on his way to the SEC with school a d fan base that won’t shite on him.

Haha. Riley apologists everywhere.

Tbh I like Riley a lot I’m just having fun with a few assholes that were all over Napier last night whom I also like a lot.

not sure I buy this tbh.

every elite football program's fan base will get tired if not winning it all.

and ou is going to struggle more with the grind of the SEC, so why not take a top 5 job that has even easier recruiting to dominate?

don't you think he wants to win a championships? seems like OU has a ceiling. from what we have seen from OU this year, they will likely just get worked come playoff time. that is if they even make it.
