The players can leave anytime they want. The coaches should be able to also. There has been many posts that Ole Miss would prefer he not coach the last game but cant fire him due to contract reasons. I am just pointing out how bad that is for everyone involved. He should leave today.

I get the feeling you're the kind of person that resigns from an employer and doesn't work their full two weeks' notice.

Kiffen wants to finish what he started and go out with some class. This idea he would actively try to lose to be loyal to LSU fans is preposterous. Grow up, man.

I wonder if they also prefer the players who plan to go with Lane to not play the last game. In the current environment where everyone gets paid, what's the difference?

There is nothing classy about leaving a team in a playoff season. That whole notion does not apply here. This is a money situation and I'm sure there was a number to get him before egg bowl.

It makes Ole Miss look like bigger losers clinging to a coach and making him coach a game he doesn't want to coach. They are clowns really. They got completely worked over by this guy.

If Ole Miss loses they will certainly blame him and all the hoopla. Its a no win situation for LK so he needs to be free to leave.

The team of 1 year mercenary players from the portal. He doesn't care enough about them to stay. Why would he care about the outcome of the egg bowl at all?

Is this your opinion or fact?

How do you know what kind of relationships he has with the players? Staff? Etc?

This kinda thinking is no longer accurate. The players are employees now not just helpless kids. They got paid to play. He got paid by Ole Miss but agreed to get paid by LSU in the future. This type of relationship talk is nonsense now. Bottom line is money.

Agree. I’m not saying they may not like each other and all but they all know this is 100% business going in.

So Ole Miss is willingly going to let LSU not pay the $4 million that they owe? Why would they do that?
