I'm not sure that a good JUCO DC couldn't get the job done either, but that form of logic is stupid.
Promotion from within after chasing highly quality candidates is a FAIL. Spin it and hypothesize all you want, but that is a fact jack.

Bruh, I've been as positive as I could be throughout Les's entire tenure. I've been called a pumper more times then I can remember, but watching as Les and Alleva have completely mishandled this search has made me realize that it's just time for some new blood. It's been 10 years. An incredibly successful ten years, but you can't deny that the program is in a sharp decline. Unless there's some home run hire waiting in the wings, then Les has lost me.

How was his last DC gig?
Not saying we're going to be drastically worse but it's pretty embarrassing how this has gone down thus far. Why can't a premier program like LSU go get a big name DC instead of having to promote a coach who doesn't even deserve a raise much less a promotion?
At this point, I'm around 85% sure Haley will be promoted, 10% Stoops gets the job, and 5% we will get a HR hire

How did les exactly "mess the search up"?

Has this search at least shown to some of you that when les goes that doesn't necessarily mean every coach in the country is going to be lining up outside of the sports admin building?
