this COULD end up saving the Michigan job for Les Miles.

damn good point.

Niners are too slow and too scared to make a wrong move, so they will miss on Harbaugh. He will be in Michigan making snowmen with his kids before the Niners have a clue.

interesting point. Although I read that the 49ers new GM is in Miami talking to parcells. I think he could have easily talked to Parcells on the phone and gotten the advice he wanted. Ironically, Harbaugh is in Fla. with his Stanford team. Coincidence? I think not.

You can add Denver to that list and Michigan. Denver just hired Elway to front office and his first choice is Harbaugh.

great point. I'd never thought of that before.

I don't think he would go to Denver though.

Bingo! He is going to the 49ers and would be crazy not to

Really? Have you followed the 49'ers this decade? They are one of the most terribly ran organizations in the league. Horrible ownership ever since debartolo left. If I were him I would wait it out and see what other NFL options are available.

If hes given some control im sure he would. There are rumors that Elway wants Luck if he comes out regardless of tebow. I could definitely see this happening.

And the same ownership. A GM can only be good with support from ownership. It may turn out good but im skeptical. My family are diehards, we have followed the 49'ers for ever and this ownership has destroyed what was once the best organization in sports.

I know you know more than me but I really don't know much about it. Kind of rant about it I'm curious.

when Eddie D was found guilty of bribing Louisiana's governor,
Eddie's sister got the team. Her husband, a lawyer, was de facto owner. He ran the team on the cheap.

Whereas Eddie D brought in premier stars at the ends of careers, to fill in gaps, like Hacksaw, and Prime Time, no big money has been spent since then.
Then Alex Smith of Utah turned out to be not worth a #1. Taking a bad or even so-so QB with your #1, (see also Oaktown and the LSU QB Jmarcus Russell)...
wrecks a team for a while.
