If there is indeed fire with all this smoke, I do somewhat sympathize with Ole Miss fans about this situation especially given the timing as you noted.

And when I say somewhat, I mean just barely enough to write this post.

The timing is my issue. It shouldn't be allowed to work this way with how much money OM has invested to make this season possible.

I understand business but there should be more rules to at least let a team finish their season.

It’s like their confidence somehow grew after that embarrassing “ stay close to your phones Sunday “ tweet that went nowhere

I think it's a slap in the face to his seniors on the Ole Miss team to leave going into the school's first ever playoff. Should have been handled after the season.

I agree. IF it happens, this was a really shitty time to do this to yall.

Fully agree, the NCAA calendar sucks. The portal and signing period should never be before the end of the season.

If this does happen, it will be the first coach to leave before the playoffs but far from the last.

Hell, rumors already are saying ole miss would get Tulane's coach and they could be a playoff team as well.

Unfortunate timing for y’all if he indeed leaves, but not sure how it could be done differently given the recruiting and portal deadlines. I feel bad for y’all, but if he comes to LSU I will love seeing the national media talking heads eat crow.

I actually agree with you it's really shitty. LSU fans going to know how it feels when he does it to them too eventually.

All indications are that Kiffin wanted, and perhaps still wants, to coach through the playoffs, but Ole Miss pushed him for an earlier decision. They, like the schools pursuing him, want to get a jump start on next season.

Yes but you don’t have that best season remotely W/o him. He has already stayed way longer than you guys I ever thought he would. And now, sounds like Sumrall is talking to you guys before he wants to even talk to Florida or Auburn, what does that tell you about what Lane has done for your program? Just think about that for a min.
