I don’t see how the default position is that we are just waiting around for Nielsen when everyone knows we made a significant offer to Freeman. Why bother even talking to anyone else if that’s it? This narrative is just message board conjecture that everyone’s running wild with right now.

I’ll remind you that this board was running wild predicting O would be fired over the Title IX situation just two months ago after TBL floated the possibility that he and Woodward were at odds. A large group of posters was also convinced that O had completely lost the locker room for all kinds of reasons and that we were about to have a mass exodus of 2 deep players to the portal.

Yet here we are paying buyouts and hiring coordinators and position coaches, which means the admin doesn’t think O is going anywhere soon. And most of the contributing upperclassmen who could easily leave for the portal or the draft if they were unhappy are returning. What could have been a really difficult scholarship situation at least looks manageable now.

My point is that this board has a shitty track record making predictions. Echo chambers tend to work that way. O may frick it all up, and if he does, fire away. But we don’t know what’s happening right now. Not one fricking person on this site does. This is all just people running around with their hair on fire because they want a cookie, or in today’s case, a DC, RIGHT NOW.
