IMO, you can't go wrong with Rodriguez or Spurrier.
Cowher would be nice but will he pull a Weis and not be able to adjust to the college game? Same thing goes for Del Rio, but he's younger so the adjustment may be easier.
If Zook couldn't make it in the SEC at FL what in the world makes you think he could make it here?
Mike Tice and Denny Green are both washed out.
I don't know a thing about Erickson.
And Saban, well, that would bring up way to many issues.
So: 1. Rodriguez 2. Spurrier 3. Del Rio
Those are the only coaches on the list I'd want.

Zook got the shaft. Even Spurrier said that he left the cupboard bare. He was hastily fired in an attempt to get Spurrier back. He has done a wonderful job at Illinois, especially in recruiting. He certainly would not be in my first few choices but he deserves a mention.

I like Zook and I think he's a good coach, but I just have second thoughts about his ability to succeed in the SEC.That also says alot about Spurrier, how could he have left the cupboard bare? Did he just give up?

I guess... but he still lost to Mississippi State. I do believe he was the first coach to get "Croomed." There's no excuse for that, particularly back then....

You guys are idiots...what makes you think any of those listed can/would do better at LSU than Miles?? Granted, I was pissed and still am about the loss to RKansas but in the end, you still have teenagers...teenagers mind you...on the field playing the game. I'll take a 10-11 win season with a top-10 finish every year! Natl. Championships are RARE...there are 64 other teams in the 6 BCS Conferences who are trying to do the same.
I was a student at LSU during the following years and would have been thrilled to have had what current students have now...
1991 5-6
1992 2-9
1993 5-6
1994 4-7
No coach is perfect, no coach will ALWAYS call the "right" play...and if he does, he still has to rely on teenagers to execute.
How many of you are perfect at your job and at home and have NEVER made a mistake??
Les is a good guy and a good coach with a GREAT record!

Where did we say that? There is a very real chance that Les will head to Michigan so we are discussing possible replacements.

Never said any of those coaches can do better than Les. Frankly, I would be thrilled if Les stays. However, there is a strong possibility that Michigan offers Les the job. If they do, he is gone.....and that's a fact!!

1. Cowher-----I mean how awesome would it be to have him on the sidelines. He played the game and was HEAD COACH. IMO, he doesn't even compare to Weis.
2. Saban-----He's won here before, he won't leave again because he'll be roasted. He'll be excused out of Bama ONLY if he comes back to LSU. Face it, the guy could coach. It's damn hard to win a MNC and he did it with our beloved tigers.
3. Dennis Erickson-----The guy can flat out fricking coach. The probation concerns are there, but I think he can get over that and he has a bad rep.
4. Steve Spurrier------He still knows how to coach and he has that competitive spirit to coach us to victory. He is old and recruiting becomes a concern.
5. Jack Del rio-----He has LSU roots and may likely stay for a while. However, there is concerns of his college coaching and recruiting ability.
6. Rich Rodriguez-----I really don't want to see the spread option at LSU for personal reasons. Plus, can he coach defense and recruit well enough?
7. Ron Zook-----This guy can flat out recruit. I don't know how, but he seems to convince any player he wants to come play for him. We'd be LOADED with talent. Coaching is a question though. Is he still Ron "play only 3 quarters" Zook?
8. Jeff Tedford-----He will definitely have a good QB, but his teams usually fizzle out as the year goes on. How will his defense do as well?
9. Mike Tice----- This guy hasn't won in any capacity whatsoever. Really think it would be a bad hire.
10. Dennis Green------He IS who we think he IS!!! Washed up.
Not to mention, if you want a very undisciplined team, then Denny's your guy. His teams have never been disciplined.
