If Kelly is talking to Brad White, was Jones not considered a candidate? What am I missing here?

It goes to show you how much damage Pelini did to the defensive psyche of this fanbase that some saw what Daronte Jones did in the second half of the season and think it was something amazing.

No, hopefully he's shown the door. Don't want him coaching DBs either since he can't recruit. Thank you for your services good sir you came into a crap situation thanks to O but time to move on.

You are missing the fact that Lane Kiffin had to tell LSU how to play defense.

The performance we had on D the last four games was the stuff of legend. Just giving credit where credit is due.

We were without Gaye, Smith, Evans, Anthony, Stingley, Ricks, and Ryan. Dave Aranda wouldn't have done any better with that many missing players.

No personally I think Jones would have done a great job all season, I think O got in the way again and prevented Jones from doing what he wanted to do in the beginning. I think we could have won 8-9 games with the defense we had at the end of the season.

It’s telling that Brad White was contacted about the job last year but didn’t want to work for O so he didn’t have any interest in the job.

You personally think that.

So do I .

But do we know that?

Does anyone?

No no no no and NO.

The illiterate shrimp boat captain became a defensive savant during the bye week and made some suggestions to daronte; it was only when O finally DID meddle in the defense that it turned around. He said so himself at a press conference.

Really? And what do you base this on? How much recruiting has he been able to do?

Last 4 games they were a top 10 D. Gave up 299 yds/gm. Jones wouldn’t be my choice as I want to clean house but I’m also not afraid to admit we had one of the best D’s in the country down the stretch.

No, O’s whole emphasis before the season was that they wanted to play defense in the secondary that would avoid all of the blown coverages. He chose Pelini because he wanted the attacking defense and that backfired, so he went to the opposite extreme and told Jones what he wanted.

Garnering zero interest from any recruits the entire time he's been here.

This is a bit of a stretch. They were good but not legendary. Even if it isn’t the D’s fault when a team goes 2-2 nothing about said team can be “legendary”

Legendary is a stretch, but statistically they were top 10. If the offense had even a resemblance of a pulse, we win our last 4 games.
