Pretty good read, spells out why Herman is probably the best hire for LSU. The only part I don't like is the part where BeBe isn't in the coaching picture.

very few of these things are actually reasons, theyre mostly just opinions, and saying things like "The only (NFL prospect) on the team now, he recruited" is simply not true.

He's easily the best realistic candidate. No-brainer.

Your wrong! It clearly gives his history as a coach with his stints and the results as both an OC and a HC. Those are reasons, not opinions!!!

Who really knows, but at this juncture I'd much prefer him over Jimbo.

BS article including and especially his recruiting prowess. If the article was written five weeks ago, some of the rest of the crap would have been almost believable.

That must have been written by a Herman Homer that posts on the Tiger Rant.

And being bitched about by an obvious Herman hater here on Tiger Rant.

You're like a Hillary supporter.

Are you going to be crying in the fetal position wearing a Jimbo T-shirt when Herman gets it?

Gets what the LSU HC position? When he finishes the season at 3-4 in final seven games I don't think LSU could justify hiring him.

I could see the press conference now. "And here is your new coach, he beat Nick Saban's Alabama years ago as OC as part of another coach's team."

Thankfully, I think the LSU higher-ups have more sense than brainwashed folks on this board.

this is just dumb. it assumes Rein would have been amazing at LSU, and since he never coached a game here there's no reason to believe that. all this is doing is simply naming another young-ish HC that wasnt terrible at LSU, and then using that as "evidence" to support Herman.

I respectfully disagree with what you are saying. I think Herman is the next Bo Rein at LSU. Well, except for the hiring part anyway. I think they will have the same exact record at LSU.

How does Herman view the 'fit'? That is all that matters. Meanwhile Miles to Texas?! One can only hope...

Seriously you need to put the crack pipe down! The stats are facts, not fiction. It clearly shows where his recruiting class ranked and how it was better than what Sumilin and Briles were able to accomplish at Houston when they were there.

If you choose to ignore the facts than you are completely bias, and there isn't a reason to have a conversation with you because you aren't open to looking at the truth!

Tom Herman is the best candidate for the LSU job because he has the best chance to eventually be described as the Best Coach in America.

He's not there yet, but at least the potential is there, which is more than you can say for a lot of the Big Name Coaches that got thrown around.

he's also held the title of QB coach at every one of his stops as an OC.

I'd take this Herman guy.

Jimbo is ok, but it seems like a good ole boy hire, albeit an upgrade.

Like I said, the article is bullshite.

"The best candidate because he has the best chance to be called the best coach in America" - Ha Ha Ha !!! Now that is some hardcore facts right there.

"He's not there yet, but at least the potential is there" - Ha Ha Ha !!! How the frick does this dork know what his potential is? His potential could be to be a one-season-wonder. His potential could be to lose to Navy and SMU in a 3 week period. His potential could be that his team is worse next year which would be a significant decline in a 3 year period.

100% agreed. He hasn't proven nearly enough as a head coach to take over a program like LSU. Let Texas roll the dice on that "potential". I want a proven guy that's already experienced trial and error elsewhere. I don't want some young coach learning on the job at LSU!!!

All in on Herman. LSU will regret it dearly if they miss out on him.

Herman or Fisher and we are golden

People, Miles was an avg coach who wasn't even an x and o guy and not tha lt good sbd he maintained success here while we were established

Either guy can maintain and even take us to more elite level on scheme and qb developing

We can more easily find Great DCs than risk an OC importance
