Herman has 100% job security. He is immensely popular with the boosters and fans.

If you’re sincerely interested in the “pulse” of the Texas fanbase, I recommend you google any of their main boards tonight. It ain’t pretty.

As I said, he ain’t goin anywhere this year, but your statement about his popularity is wildly inaccurate.

Red Mccombs could tell you the difference between Tom and Sumlin and Charlie Strong for that matter.

Yeah, but he’s not producing the wins or quality that we expect from Texas football

Fans don't really have much of a say in the matter.

Absolutely True, I was merely responding to the Oregon fan that claimed Herman was extremely popular with the Texas fanbase.

He doesn’t think he ever gets out coached.

What an arrogant douche

You’d think he’d be humble to re-evaluate some things but he seems incapable of taking any blame

Post Iowa State loss:

Tom Herman’s presser, he just said “I’d never say we got outcoached.”

Tom Herman at Texas:
7.4-win pace

Mack Brown's last five years at Texas:
6.7-win pace

Last 5 weeks for @CoachTomHerman’s preseason #10 Texas Longhorns:
- Loss in Red River Shootout
- Win at home vs Kansas on a FG at the gun
- Loss at TCU
- Win at home vs Kansas State on a FG at the gun
- Loss at Iowa State

Texas is a job Urban's wife might let him take... no love lost between the Meyer's and the Herman's.

Make no mistake...Urban started his “Herman revenge tour” last week. And I don’t blame him.

Urban will likely get the last laugh in that drama.

I’m no fan of Urban, but it was pretty despicable the lengths Herman and his wife went to in order to bring down Urban. And it shows you what kind of people they are and why no one in the coaching community has any respect for Tom Herman.

As Urban said “you might need to look under the hood and find out what’s going on (at Texas)”. LINK

Despite Urban’s flaws, at least he’s proven time and time again that he’s a winner. Tom Herman... not so much.

Simply put: they never liked each other To start with.

But it really got messy after:

-5 star recruit chooses OhioSt over Texas

-Herman’s wife, out of spite, gives secret interviews to media to bring down OhioSt wife beater and Urban

-Urban eventually forced to resign at OhioSt

-Urban now on the attack and probably looking to get revenge

I still think he will get 2020, but it’s gotten bad in Austin last 2 weeks.

Program is imploding.

They have regressed badly as the season has gone on. Its not like they have zero talent. Don't think they are well coached.

Either Herman makes majors staff changes this offseason or he is gone by the end of next year.

they already have the 2 losses. what about 0-3?

The loss next week thats coming and i think hes fired. Or if not his seat is nuclear hot. He is not CDCs football hire. He has to win id say 9 games and that aint happening. Hes lost the team. Theres no reason to be this bad.

If urban wants to stick it to tom and take this job bring it on. I welcome it. Im tired of mediocrity. Its not like the big 12 is some juggernaut conference.

And toms attitude is what kills me. Hes such an arrogant bastard. I hate his smug face. I want to punch it. Hes barely better than Charlie strong. Thats unacceptable. Period. GTFO. Im done.

I’m actually starting to think...IF, and this is a Big IF....IF Urban says yes and assuming the PTB at Texas actually want him, I think it’s possible they make the move this year.

Best bet is Herman gets 2020. But if it was only 5% chance they fire him this year last week, I think it has bumped up to 15-20% chance they fire him this year. And assuming Meyer has sincere interest and Texas also has interest, it might just happen this year.

I think:

-Lose to Texas Tech, Herman fired.

-Beat TexasTech, Herman stays for 2020, coordinators and a lot of assistant coaches replaced

If Herman fired, the coaches I think texas will look at: Urban, BrianKelly, PJ Fleck, Matt Rhule, Matt Campbell, James Franklin, Gus Malzahn.

And a call to Nick Saban would never hurt...worst he can say is No.
