He's in my top ten list....but low on it. I'd rather someone else. He wouldn't be the worst hire though.

2 months ago, I would've loved the hire.

Today, after their collapse and his sideline antics, I don't like the hire.

Throw the kitchen sink at Patterson and Saban. Hell, Petrino and Mullen might not be long shots.

I think Mike Archer is the analogy you're looking for.

Archer was a defensive guy like Pelini and inherited a program that wasn't as good as it is today but was a hell of lot better than what he gave to Hallman or what Hallman gave to DiNardo.

But based on Pelini's record at Nebraska, I have trouble believing he's any of those 3.

He may be an arse (so is Saban) but this is a results oriented town. We could do a LOT worse than Pelini.
