Other than Pennsylvania being close to home, there's absolutely no reason for Saban to go to PSU.

Richt would clean up their image. I don't know why the country acts like he's the only Christian coach in the world, but they do.

I actually agree with this. His rep as a pious man far outlives his actual actions. Some of the shenanigans his team has gotten away with make me wonder. Seems like a pretty good guy, but he's no Tim Tebow.

Saban is a program builder and an ego maniac. Not to mention, a whore when it comes to the $$$.
With that said, PSU needs to make a decision. Do they want to play it safe, go cheap and hire an unproven stop-gap type coach or should they invest in a guy like Saban. Offer him like $7 mill/per year with incentive bonuses for winning a Big Ten title and/or NC. Possibly making up to $8 mill per year. Spare me the civil lawsuit argument. PSU can pay and pay some more. They've filled up a 100k+ stadium for a long time now while paying joepa $300k per year. They can get whoever they want if it comes to money.
A coach like Saban would bring instant credibility to that program and big donors. He would clean house and do it his way. He would sell "the process". If he could guide that program through this PR nightmare and win a NC for PSU while following a tarnished legend, he would go down as the greatest college coach of all time. Like I said he's an egomaniac.
If nothing else, sexton will flaunt his name out there to get some extra $$$ from Bama. Either way, it's a win-win for saban.

Georgia could do much worse than Richt. I do, however, understand their frustration, even if I do think Richt is a good coach and a good guy.
