Napier > Stoops and BOB

Napier is a huge unknown. I’m personally not in favor of taking a big risk unless that coach is elite on one side of the ball. I wouldn’t say Napier is elite at anything. All I’ve heard is about “the process”.

Imagine if employers actually thought like this.

“Hey Bob you know that job opening we’re hiring for. Well there’s a guy that’s really interested in it, can you believe it, what a loser”

What an idiotic statement

It would be if it didn't sound exactly like several posters here do.

Being a head coach is a job. Actually wanting a specific job is usually considered a plus in the workplace. But lobbying for the LSU coaching job is somehow a problem? Specifically when it would be a huge step up for the prospective employee?

There are all kind of reasons that a person may legitimately think Napier is not the best choice but him wanting the LSU Job more than anything else available right now isn't one of them.

I would not be upset by the hire.

How the hell do you know this? And why is everyone saying Napier wants this job and that job, but he's got this laundry list of demands before he will even consider? Napier isn't desperate, he's lying in wait for the right opportunity. If he was desperate he would have left UL last year for Auburn.

And by the way, this is a part about Napier that is well known around the program. He wants Saban type of control and will not accept a job unless he gets it. His father was a coach and famously turned down bigger money offers to stay at the right place. He was brought up to be this way, and won't change no matter how much money you throw at him. He makes 2 million a year at UL so the guy isn't hurting.
