Disclaimer: I’m taking this with the smallest grains of salt imaginable given the source. If this does come to fruition...I may shed a tear of sadness. This cannot happen

(And please spare me the “he broke records when he took over” sentence)

quote:

"I don't know what you mean by mended," Orgeron retorted tersely Wednesday.
"You wanting to do something in the Troy game that he (Canada) didn't want to do," the questioner responded at the press conference.

"Well, I'm the head coach. We're going to do what I want to do,"

Orgeron retorted. Asked if he was pleased with the progression he and Canada have had, Orgeron at first said something inaudible. Then he answered without mentioning Canada's name.

UPDATE: Dellenger saying it’s a done deal

Ross Dellenger @RossDellenger This has been a long, long time coming, but #LSU plans to split with OC Matt Canada after the Tigers' Citrus Bowl against Notre Dame, multiple sources confirm

The worst part was Mike S suggested it could be done to offset the cost of paying out Canada's whole contract.

I didn't realize that LSU's yards per game fell under Canada. Ensminger's offense produced more in 2016 than 2017's output.

Just torch the program to the ground.

He'll always have a winning season, but he will never win a damn thing. We fired Les to only go back to the outdated offense that will never beat Bama.

If O hires Esninger, just get ready to have another coaching search in 2 years.

Some people never learn from history.

But I'm sure the true LSU fans will love this move because he's one of us.

People will be defending this move because he beat up some shitty defenses last season

LSU's offense didn't beat up anyone this year - even the shitty defenses.

I agree with everything you said except that he will continue to have winning seasons. O is supposed to be a recruiting guru yet here we are with his first class ranked outside the Top 10 with no QB. That's a bad trend that will straight correlate to more losses. O is lucky the SEC was a dumpster fire this yr are we might have been playing today in the Independence Bowl. Sad times for LSU football

If its Ensminger, that will be the first nail in the coffin for O. I'm hoping the man is smarter than that and has a top OC lined up...

I’m going to wait till a hire is made, but for O’s sake I hope it’s not Ensminger. I don’t care if he calls the bowl game, but he’s not a full time OC.

LSU has the highest paid assistant coaches in the country. Poor is not the problem. Its Stupidity and laziness to try and find a good hire.
