His attitude is exactly what was missing from the Shannon era.

Miami as a program is nowhere near the program Nebraska is on the verge of revisiting.

Nebraska is not currently a national power and never again will be. With basically every game being televised these days, recruits from the south and California/Texas no longer have any reason to need to go to Nebraska. Modern recruiting is location location location and Nebraska will never attract the recruits necessary to be a power again.

My son, how quickly you forgot about the 2000, 2001 and 2002 Miami teams

where were all the thug incidents then?

overrated by LSU fans

and

that was the coker era, who did not discipline players, which is why the program fell off (as well as QB failures)

Butch had the Miami team very well behaved. The thug thing was not an issue. Coker failed more so because he didn't replenish the talent than lack of discipline, IMO.

word is he is not getting along with Nebraska admin.

No question Osborne has an ego bigger than all outdoors, but I have never thought Pelini had the temperament to be a big program head coach. Fiery, in your face, and a good technical defensive mind, yes. But in terms of managing all the constituents, from kids to parents to administrators to boosters to the press, I think he is limited. It isn't surprising that he's having issues at Nebraska and I suspect it isn't all Nebraska's fault.

yeah he was a program builder at UM. guided them through serious probation and had them on top soon after

he failed at QB (berlin was OK, wright/freeman were horrible)...like FSU did for so many years

but discipline was an issue. pata getting killed, the LSU fight, the FIU in-game brawl, etc

If Nebraska is trying to silently run off Pelini or if they even allow him to leave, then I will be coninced that without a shaddow of a doubt, the higher ups at Nebraska (cough cough TO) are completely insane. It showed a complete willingness to shove their own heads up their asses when they fired Frank Solich. One would think they werent stupid enough to get rid of ANOTHER winning coach simply because he lost his temper or gets under the skin of their demi god TO.

Osbourne has a stick up his arse. He is looking for someone who is stoic and expresses no emotion, exactly as he does. The only person that seems to fit that description that I can think of off the top of my head it Marky Mark Richt.

So you are saying that Bo didn't do his due diligence prior to go to Nebraska? Osborne has not suddenly become a prick.

This pretty much sums it up.....it's amazing how people are stuck in the late 80's early 90's. Pelini's structure and attitude combined with the talent in that area is actually very scary. Hell, if he coached this years team, they would have made some noise.

If Bo goes to Miami, who takes the Nebraska job?

Man, the Florida, Miami, and maybe now Nebraska and Michigan jobs all opening up in the same offseason? Craziness. God bless the CCB.

Agree completely. The athletes are there. Much better chance of winning in the ACC then the Big 10. Maybe its just me but I doubt kids really care that NU has a better fanbase. If the U starts winning the fans will start showing up.

out of the three interviewed it's gotta be bo. edsall wouldn't be a bad hire either, but i think bo brings more what the U is looking for.

hate to say it but tubbs is washed up imo.
