What page is that? The "bring our program out of the crapper, and restore respect to our once prominent defense before we move to the Big 10" page?
My thoughts exactly.

I love this time of year. Christmas...lights...presents...Rudolf...coaching changes rumors...

I would be surprised to see Pelini leave just yet, despite the Nebraska admin being unhappy with his on field demeanor. When he leaves Nebraska, I think it will be to a stronger program than the U.

That said, it would be Nebraska's loss to lose him.

Miami? Dying program. I don't care if he isn't getting along with the folks at NU, Miami is a career risk.

Nebraska is similar to Tennessee in that they don't have that great of high school athletes to feed into Lincoln. Nebraska has always gone out of state to recruit, much like Tennessee. The state of Florida is abundant with talent.

Miami as a program is nowhere near the program Nebraska is on the verge of revisiting. You can't even get people in Miami to fill the seats. Good thing the stadium has the same color seats as Miami (U and dolphin) uniforms. you don't notice the emptiness as much.

Even in those glory years for Miami they didn't fill the Orange Bowl. Lots and lots of seats were always available. Nebraska does have both a plus and a minus for it now. They are joining the Big 10 and that starts this season. That's a plus with the games and stadiums a kid can play in. It's also a minus because the Big 10 is much stiffer competition than what Miami faces in the ACC and Miami could get back to unbeaten status and into a national championship fairly fast with the right coach. Miami has the history of turning their eyes about their athletes quite a bit more than Nebraska has and now must do to conform of the rigors of the Big 10.

Edit: If it were me, I would stay in Nebraska at least for the initial season in the Big 10.

I didn't say they haven't had some issues. All schools do. Miami has revelled in the thugs.

My man - that was the LATE '80's/EARLY '90's. They are far from that........college football is far from that. That kind of behavior isn't tolerated...........maybe that's why Urban is "retiring"?

My son, how quickly you forgot about the 2000, 2001 and 2002 Miami teams as well as the 2005 Chick fil A Peach Bowl when LSU faced Miami and all their thuggery then.

Have to disagree with this. Its all about recruiting. He can field a championship team with the homegrown talent within a 75 mile radius of the Miami campus. Also the ACC an easier conference to dominate in then the coming Big Ten.

I agree, Pelini would be nuts to make that move. What is this talk about Osborne & company not liking him?? He has Nebraska on an upward scale; what do they think, Nebraska can dominate like they did back in the day?? Those days are gone forever, I don't care who is the Nebraska coach...

Yes. Larry Coker was a scary guy. He ran a program without boundries.

i think he could win the big ten, granted ACC is easier to win but big ten will bring in more money to the school because of the big ten network....

Nebraska going into the Big 10 makes that conference even better. The ACC is, to me, just not working. It's too spread out from New England to Miami and doesn't have the cohesion that the Big 10 or SEC have with the rivalries. I think in a few years we might see some realignment with the ACC as well as the Big East. Oh, no bigger than 12 teams in a conference. That's a great number. After that, it starts to become diluted.

They don't have a fan base to have a great program. Not now.

Pelini is the real deal and can make use of Florida's recruits.

He realizes he will be scavenging for Tex's leavings and not even be able to tell the kids he will be playing in their home state.

The bigger plus for Nebraska being in the Big ten is hoops recruitment in Chicago. For baseball and football its a net loss.
