Nebraska is a far cry from the Nebraska we all grew up with. I think they are making a big mistake if they hire Bo. He is not a recruiter doesnt talk to the media and a jerk. Basically he is Saban without the recruiting ability or knowledge of the blitz. Good luck with that..

JV - did you guys have any injuries from the beginning of the season until those last two games, or was your D pretty much healthy and whole?

Also, what was the competition level of those first few games compared to Ole Miss and AR?

3 starters on our DL were injured, we lost 2 starts early in the season...Pelini is an excellent DC
I hope he stays at LSU
I don't get the bashing of your DC when you have the best Defense in the SEC

He made one mistake by not blitzing on 4th down
His game plan was excellent...how many yrds did DMC and co got in the 1st half? 2nd half palyers were tired, didn't make plays

Thats because we were winning, if we had managed to lose those close games this would have started long ago because starting with the South Carolina game we gave up 25 pts per game and 354 yds per game and yes that excludes overtimes!

And if the OFFENSE had scored a touchdown off one of the short fields against Arkansas, or the SPECIAL TEAMS had won the Kentucky game in regulation, nobody would be complaining about a top 5/10 defense, nationally.

I say this as someone who admits that the defense had some problems down the stretch, including missed assignments/poor play, bad play calling and injuries.

Uhhh I dunno a defense that doesnt give up ONE THOUSAND frickING yards in 2 games when the National Title is on the line. A guy that is willing to blitz one on the worst QB's in all of college football with the game on the line. A guy that doesnt invent a soft zone defense and isnt so hard headed that he wont change it when it doesnt work. LSU is SOLELY in the top categories based on demolishing horrible teams when Pelini knew the game wouldnt be close. When he knew that it would be a blowout he blitzed and took risks. Against EVERY team from Tulane on he incorporated this soft zone bend but done break defense what would rank easily in the bottom of college football. Look at the points given up which matters more than yardage stats. Much like Jimbo Fisher I think he moves on and LSU improves.

Ain't that the truth! We'll get back up there someday, hopefully not in the too distant future.

We need to show you southerners that people north of the Mason Dixon line can still play football! We've been doing a piss-poor job of that lately!

LSU has players on its bench that would start for most of the teams in the country. Other teams dont have injuries?

So we gave up two long TD runs in the 3rd quarter due to being tired? I'm sorry, I can not blame the players on that one!

Also, isn't our defense one of the worst in the SEC in the red zone?

you talking about players on DL that have seen almost no playtime

If you lose 3 starters on DL...you're in big shite

when you have 3 RB/FB 1st rounders who are very motivated and keeps pounding you and your QB keeps making plays...yes you get tired and frustrated

We were not motivated? If you are the #1 team with the #1 defense headed by the #1 D player coached by the #1 DC, no, you do not get tired and frustrated, especially in the 3rd quarter!

And why was their QB making plays? He had all day to throw!

Plz go back and watch the Ole Miss and Ark games. I don't see how anyone can continue to make excuses for him. When you get paid 400K a year you should have your shite together for those games.

I thought with the senior leadership we have that might not happen, but probably so.
