can somebody explain him having any stock whatsoever to me?
other than his crappy offenses lately and lack of QB development, he's also supposedly a saban-esque a-hole
is he a good recruiter or something?
what rebuilding program is going to hire him on to revamp their offense now?

I think he's supposed to be a good recruiter. awful OC though

that was my next comment
"be thankful that miami fired him yesterday Auburn, because i bet you'd have gotten stuck with him"
i mean i'm not sold on malzhan at all, but nix at AU would have been fun

I have never understood how playing QB at Auburn for 7 years automatically equals being an offensive genius.

I thought he did pretty good with Harris (except for when it was late in the half). Not sure anyone coulda done much with Reggie Ball.

then they'd have had to play La Tech's savior

I thought they had a backup that graduated either the same year as reggie or before him, but he was better

I think hiring coaches has become like the NBA draft. AD's hire for potential. Look at the recent development of "coaches in waiting". That has never happened before. I think Nix, Applewhite and Jason Garret fall into the "He's got great potential to be a great coach" category.
IMO FWIW

ETA yes; and his completion percentage went down every year
Stats Overview Passing
YEAR CMP ATT YDS CMP%
2004 164 330 2147 49.7
2005 182 380 2165 47.9
2006 135 304 1820 44.4

he actually interviewed for the HC job
I wouldn't have been surprised if the good ol boys at AU had given him the job

I know, but he had that label and it sticks for a while. I think his stock is as low as ever, but he will go be a QB coach or OC for a small program for two or three years and be back again at a place like AU or Oklahoma.

The X in his last name mesmerizes people when they look at his resume.

have you watched tulsa this year? i haven't seen much of them, but has malzhan really changed that offense?
if he comes to AU with his O from 2006/2007 i just don't see how it can work in the SEC
