Eric Morris should definitely be high on the list. Risky I know but at least we will be fun to watch. Eric Morris plus Payton Houston could be sick with Louisiana WRs.

The crazy thing is they were all 3 star or less QBs coming out of HS. Mestemaker was a back-up on his HS team.

Morris really is the QB whisperer.

I wish our administration was bold enough to make a choice like that. Unfortunately, Morris will probably end up at Okie State and a bigger program will nab him in a few years with us looking back saying we shoulda…

And Cam Ward was in a wing-t offense in HS, he had less than 1,000 yds passing in his sr season

Mestemaker has worked with Mahomes' private QB coach, Jeff Christensen. Christensen introduced him to Morris and was then invited to walk on at North Texas.

Mestemaker just kind of fell into the lap of North Texas and Morris. His HS journey to now is pretty crazy and shows that even in the new NIL/transfer world of college football, hard work and loving the game can still bring you success as a player.
