Against unranked teams....2/3 are on the road against ranked opponents. Good chance they drop one maybe two. This would knock OU out of the playoff race, free up Riley to take the job prior to any bowl game if he chose to. Amirite?
Would be something if Dave Aranda beat him, thus allowing Riley to come be our coach.

Whatever happens in that game has zero impact on whether or not we end up with Riley.

If it knocks OU out of the playoffs it very well could have everything to do with it.

My comment has more to do with the fact that Riley isn't making a decision to leave a school that he has been at his entire career based on whether or not he makes the playoffs and/or beats Baylor. It's laughable that people would think that.

On top of that they are outside looking in and there's no guarantee they get in even if they win out.

I agree because Riley may see the futility of trying to win a NC at OU and look to LSU to fulfill that mission.

It wouldn’t be Riley making the decision. LSU can't wait until mid January to hire a coach and it's very unlikely that a coach would sign with a new school early if they were in the playoffs.

Of course he is part of deciding whether or not he leaves.

@ Woodward if Riley is seriously interested and he tells him to frick off because of the playoffs.

Not if he isn't offered the job because he won't sign after the regular season because his team is in the CFP.

What about this? Auburn beats Bama. A&M wins the next 2 games, setting up the situation where a win over LSU would clinch the West and send them to Atlanta to play Georgia in the SECCG with an outside shot,of making the CFP. And LSU wins. May be a tough sell to the LSU fan base if he’s announced 2 days later.

Yeah man, someone should fire OU's coach for such poor performance before the season ends.

I mean it absolutely helps the overall chances. Pretty hard to leave a school if you make the playoffs. Not sure how you can't see it would help both sides come to an agreement.

That is only part of it though.

Would rather them not make the playoffs where they could potentially win it all. I understand highly unlikely, but still rather not have to wait or be in that position.

It may speed up a decision or an announcement but it will have no bearing on if Riley says yes or no. and again if Riley tells Woodward he's seriously interested and agrees to terms but Woodward tells him to frick off because he won't sign before the playoffs then Woodward is not who everyone thinks he is.

OU will likely be favored in all 3 of their last games. I think they lose 1 of them, but I don't think that matters. If Woodward and Riley's agent are serious, Woodward will hang around for him. Woodward will continue dialogue elsewhere but he's not risking much by waiting on Lincoln. Riley and his agent are either serious or they're not - they're only not serious if they truly think he can win a natty this year, and I don't think they believe that bc Georgia will beat the hell out of them and Bama probably would too - I'll go out on a limb and say LSU may even beat them this year. OU peaked several years ago.

He's 54–8.
Regardless of scheduling, that's damn impressive.

If they somehow win the next three they will have to beat another good team in the B12 championship. I cant see them win the next 4 against quality opponents.

Riley has not been at OU his entire career.
