I'm just curious about these rumors that surround him. I would be fine with him, but I don't wanna hire him then have that all come out and be true

Some of them are. He’s paying child support to a couple of ladies at ASU. They may or may not have been students, but they were college age. Lots of smoke on the gambling, but it wasn’t enough to get him fired from Memphis. They looked into it when the rumors popped up two years ago.

That's such a big issue that can be used against him

No super secret sources or anything. The coed thing got out there 2 years ago. Pretty sure it’s public record because of child support.

The other stuff is rumor, but some of the Memphis sportswriters said he and the school went over everything when the rumors were first circling. U of M obviously had to make sure they weren’t going to be blindsided and have to fire him if something did hit the news cycle.

Man that is tempting to put money on Norvell. Many beat writers in Oxford and Memphis are saying there’s a ton of smoke there. People close to the program are saying he’s the #1 target.

Is the smoke coming just from us being interested or is it coming from him saying "yes. Just wait until after Saturday to announce"?

He reportedly has interest in the FSU job. Their spoiled fans are too stupid for their own good. He would do a good job there.

Truth be told all but 5 schools in the SEC are pretty much the same.

Who are the beat writers in Memphis saying there is a ton of smoke? Honestly curious. Only person I've seen mention it is a local tv sports caster who is an OM grad

Napier is in play if miss out on some higher guys.

My preference/option:
1. Norvell
2. Kiffin
3. Harsin
4a Napier
4b Satterfield
6. Fuente

If he is gone I hope it's to FSU. That way I don't have to actively root against him.

Yep. Like I heard on the radio, yesterday, he shouldn't go to one of the three SEC schools just to go there. If not FSU, he should wait and see what happens at Oklahoma (Lincoln Reilly going to the pros) or USC (Clay Helton fired) before making any other coaching decisions. He'll be loaded at Memphis next year and, quite frankly, can afford to wait for better opportunities than the three current SEC openings. That was just one guys opinion, but it makes sense.

But, at the same time, he can't turn down 35 million dollars, either.

if his team is set up for success next season then that money will be there again and potentially at much easier places to win.
