If saban is at Bama, and O is the hc for LSU, we can bank on being a top 10 team that loses to Bama

LSU needs an offensive minded hc that will retain Aranda, period.
Think Fisher or Herman would have put up a goose egg? I don't. Just saying. I love me some O, but he's not the coach to get LSU a title

I think he will get the talent necessary to win games

Not really. I don't believe that. I just think it takes an offensive minded hc to beat saban. Someone that can think, offensively, outside the box, I guess.
a hc should have a specialty. An area of expertise more than just a position. LSU needs someone that sees that whole goddamn field.
I appreciate that O lets his coordinators do their thing, but when shite hits the fan, we need someone to step up. A DL coach can't do that for the offense.
Les, in my eyes, was the guy who tried to do this but lacked the ability

But to your point, I'm not necessarily against hiring a defensive mind. I just want a guy who has proven they're the reason for their teams success. Essentially all O has proven is that he's a good salesman.

Hell, saban is a defense guy. But he has enough brains to realize he needs an offensive minded Oc who will mix things up.
That's all I want. A real hc who has a real area of expertise and will hire guys who are good at what they do- on offense. But he NEEDS to have some fricking background in offensive football. If Aranda is at LSU, I firmly believe he can be left alone to do his thing. He's top tier.

A HC needs to have at least some involvement in game planning and adjustments. Some have said that O is involved to an extent, but that's the problem. He's yet to prove anything.
He has an elite DC and has failed at the position in the past. He's never had a good defense as a HC until he came here.
On offense, well, you saw what happened tonight. The lowest yardage against Bama all year. And O couldn't contribute anything if he wanted to.
What does he do? He recruits. That's it. He's yet to prove anything else. That's not deserving of the LSU HC job.

Yes it would be very similar to Miles IMO
I'm so ready for LSU to hire a HC that can develop qbs instead of gambling on OC hires

Regardless of coordinator on that side they field great D
And they have more talent than anyone
I'd rather hire Aranda as HC then but I think it's too soon however I prefer LSU get an offensive HC that will develop qbs consistently
Coach o is a great d line coach, maybe the best, but he's still going to have to consistently make the right hires on both sides of the ball and OC is tricky

The only thing that has threatened or beaten Alabama that last couple of years is a mobile quarterback with a good arm. Kelly at Ole Miss, the Clemson QB last year, and the Ohio State QB 3-4 yrs. ago. I like what Etling has done but he doesn't possess enough mobility, throws late, and doesn't have a strong enough arm. Just my view.
