You seem slow.

The only years that matter when comparing 0 to jimbo for an lsu fan should be 2017-the future

Once the hire was made, What they did prior is irrelevant now.

I met the SEC west. The East is a joke.

I would rather have had Jimbo than O I would not have offered 10 years 7.5 million for Jimbo We can affordably fire O next year already if needed to.

I don't think I need to tell you the problem with hiring a coach whose most favorable attribute is how easily he can be fired.

No doubt it's a hard conference. But the people who act like the ACC is a joke and the SEC is the murderers row it used to be are living in the past. There's been a whole lot of mediocre in the conference for a few years now

I don't get all the O hate. He's about to win his 10th game in his first year. He made good mid season adjustments.

I really dont care about the past anymore

Since the hire was made, O is 9-3 and Jimbo is 5-6

Those are the only relevant numbers anymore. We will continue to track them for the future.

Jimbo just went from a division with Boston College, Clemson, Louisville, NC State, Syracuse, and Wake Forest with a permanent game vs Miami, to the SEC West with a Permanent game vs South Carolina.

We will see how this goes, especially if the 10 years for $75 million number is true.

So you want to stake your argument on the smallest sample size possible instead of looking at the entire body of work? Makes sense whenever you're trying to rationalize what a disaster last years coaching search was I guess

If this would have been to Tenn then i would say home run but in the SEC West 7.5 million a year may get you 9-4.
This has Jim Harbaugh all over it

Lol wut?

Until FSU tanked this season, they've really only had Clemson as a legit competitor to win their division. Louisville had a good season last year but they've fallen back to mediocrity. Miami and Va Tech were good this year, but they're both in the other ACC division and hadn't been good for a few years before now.

No. I am saying once the hire was made, the only logical way to judge the hire between two coaches is from that point forward. It makes zero sense to use what happened before. None. While making the hire, everything before is what was relevant. And jimbo was clearly ahead

What is it that is confusing about that?

If you actually believe that, then why do you prefer fisher to orgeron when money isn't considered?

I agree last years coaching search was a disaster. Yes at the beginning of this year it looked like a total train wreck. However, in his first year CEO could pull off a 10 win season. That is nothing to bat an eye at.

On top of that, the landscape of the league is already changing by the day.

You make hires based on previous success. So this whole "wait until it blows up" process doesn't prevent you from seeing how lopsided the two hires were at the time they were made.

The SEC west has a perennial top 5 team in Bama. Top 10-5 in LSU/Auburn. A top top 25 depending on the year with the combination of OM and MSU (although both those could take a hit with coaches leaving and sanctions).

FSU had to play Clemson. Miami finally has a pulse but this was the first year for that in a long time. UL is a decent team but not at the level of LSU/AU/Bama. No other team seems to be consistently strong in the ACC.
