Now was it that way at OU or his last job?

He could have been referring to his last job....either way a good coach would utilize the talent at his disposal. I think he would incorporate some power run in his game. You cannot win without it in the SEC. I believe the guy can see that and I know Les believes that.

You must not know SEC football if you think Leach would be a good hire!!

Meaning? Petrino's done pretty well on offense in the SEC. Leach wouldn't be running the defense.

Petrino didn't run enough against Ohio are they would have won easily. FWIW

Maybe Petrino won't be so stubborn next time......if there is a next time.

He was just speaking in general terms or what he believes in. They spread it out and threw it a bunch with Heupel at Oklahoma if I remember correctly, though probably not as extreme as he was Tech.

I don't know why you would want to hire a guy and then ask him to change his style, that is kind of how we got to where we are now. At least he would probably be a better teacher than Crowton and we could probably execute better regardless of what type of offense we would run. But the philosophical difference could cause issues. Plus you would have to recruit to his system which could leave you in a bind after he leaves in a year or two.

Petrino and Leach's styles are nothing alike.

True, but I think the guy was saying you had to have a run-heavy offense in the SEC. Petrino shows this isn't the case.

I know. See above.

I agree it would be an improvement and better than kragthorpe. If Miles and Leach could co exist than I believe his hire would be a good one.

The negative is he would be gone in 2 years

there's still no guarentee that Crowton is fired. It's been fairly well know that Miles has been looking at several OCs for awhile now.

Read teh tea leaves man. Crowton is gone. He has yet to find another job and is getting anxious, hence the latest round of comments shifting blame for the lack of offensive production to Miles (right or wrong, we haven't heard this before).

Gary is looking but is finding the job market tough.
