I know the sweetheart of the chattering classes here on TD is Kiffen as OC. But...

He is interviewing for Houston HC position, and would likely be a temp at LSU, even if he comes a season or two. So...

What is Plan B? Sometimes outside of Kiff and Briles, Major Applewhite's name gets dropped as possible OC. Would he be a bad risk or a bad option? I mean, assuming he might be open to LSU?

I'm sure that we could hire Monken away from Tampa Bay for the kind of money we're paying Aranda. Solid hire, even if a branch from the Miles tree.

If we take anything we learned from the HC search to heart, this is likely the current plan....

I don't understand this type of thinking. Allevea isn't making the hire, for the offensive coordinator.

But he did sign off Os plan. And since no one has been hired, or even interviewed, its clearly obvious that Kiffin was the one and only target

And what has Kiffin done since? Interview for at least 4 other jobs.

And what has Alleva done in response? Jack shite.

Nobody posting on this board knows who Orgeron may or may not have spoken to, to date, about the OC position. So to say, "there's been no interviews," how the hell do YOU know? Answer: you don't.

I have more faith in Orgeron, than I do Alleva. If he has decided to wait and see if Kiffin is available, that is fine. If that is known a day or so following the NCG (if Ala. is in it, which I assume they will be), then that is fine. If it drags on closer to NSD, then that is a problem. At some point, Orgeron needs to sh!t or get off the pot with regard to Kiffin.

If it's not Kiffin, I do believe Orgeron will hire someone not named Steve Ensminger as OC. Since I don't know what discussions among coaches, or agents, have already happened, or will happen, I do not know which OCs are on the radar ... my "source" is this board, to which I apply common sense. If it's not Kiffin, I think Helfrich, Briles Jr., Applewhite, Gilbert, I'm sure others, are possibilities.

O needs an OC that can coach and run the offense with no input from him. That requires a highly experienced coach, possibly an ex head coach. I don't think Applewhite is there yet.

Because its a game agents play. "Look over here, LSU wants to talk to my guy. Better snatch him up quick!"

Not one name has been thrown around, except Helfrich. And he contacted us!!
