I said this when they hired Nutt: he is an 8-4 football coach. He may go 5-7 one year, 10-2 the next...but overall, he's gonna average out at about 8-4.

Now if you're happy with that, then Houston Nutt is your guy. Ole Miss, having had so little gridiron sucess over the last 50 year or so, clearly IS happy w/ that. Good for them.

I would NEVER want him here in Baton Rouge, though.

From a handshake agreement made when Houston Nutt took job, AD Pete Boone says his deal will extend to another 4 years, thru 2014.

Has anyone ever done better than 8-4 at Ole Miss consistently?

I mean come on now...it has it's challenges

Arky would be easier to win more IMHO

I know you aren't joking. Nutt is an 8 win coach.

The OP has to be joking. Who gets an extension after going 5-7? Or was it 4-8? Whatever it was, no bowl game for the black bears.

cotton bowl is a good as nutt will ever do at OM. as the previous poster said, if the fans are happy with this then god bless em.

i believe this has more to do though with the ad being gutless and the athletic department wanting to go cheap.

I think Johnny Vaught used to win 9-10 games per year there about 45-50 years ago. Not so much to brag about since then, though.

This is part of the agreement of last years extension. Nothing new has happened. It deals with the State of Mississippi's length of contracts. This extension has nothing to do with this years football team or the Colorado rumors.
