We really have some stupid fans that actually think being Cajun helps recruiting in Louisiana. Wow just wow

You're the dumbshit. Everybody says they want a wall built around Louisiana talent. If there's a 6'6" 335 pound defensive lineman in Larose Cutoff that eats raw alligator for breakfast everyday who do you think the family is going to relate to -
Tom Herman or Coach O
If O doesn't get the wins, he can ride a gator into TS on gamedays, and no one will give a f**k.

With Aranda's defensive acumen he don't have to recruit. He would have a staff of recruiters. Kids are already raving about playing in his defense. He puts EVERYONE in position to make plays. It's insane

The louisiana thing doesnt matter in the least, so i wish people would stop using it. The only elite coach that has ANY affiliation to their school is Harbaugh, and he was an elite coach before that.

The thing about Aranda is, you would expect him to always have a top 10 defense, even if the talent dips a bit. Thats a pretty good basis to build a solid program.

Not a good idea in my opinion. He seems too stoic, not very outgoing

You can never be a successful head coach with those attributes and qualities

The biggest risk with hiring Aranda as head coach is that being a brilliant X and O coordinator still doesn't give you a guarantee of success. Just look at Derrick Mason at Vandy as an example. The table was set for him to come in and at least continue to be competitive, and he has been given several opportunities to make changes, but they still have no offense.

Despite that, if you needed a DC and he was fired at the end of the season, you throw as much as you can at him, because there is absolutely no doubt that the man can coach up a defense. If Aranda left us for an HC job and Mason is on the market, that's who I want to replace him.

I know it's Vandy, but I don't think it would matter with him. Some guys really are lifetime coordinators, and there's nothing wrong with that.
