Nobody from Mich State followed Saban to LSU. Worked out pretty well, I’d say.

One of which is a ND lifer and the other got promoted to head coach.

Both have said they’d be in Baton Rouge likely if Freeman wasn’t promoted.

Staffers are still people who are uprooting their lives to follow Kelly halfway around the country FYI

Or, their relationship with BK is the only qualification they have for the job.

You guys really, REALLY need to stop drawing parallels and comparisons to Saban. At least wait until BK shows that he is in the same galaxy as Saban when it comes to coaching. You are setting yourselves up for some epic butthurt.

Yes, I’m sure that’s how Kelly built a successful program at ND. He did it by filling important roles with unqualified cronies.

I’d argue that he’s done more with a lot less that Saban has. He’s made a title game and two playoffs (best of 4) with similar academic requirements to Duke/Vandy/Tulane. PS- look at the scores the same year both his team and Saban’s team lost to Clemson. He played them closer than Saban did.

If you think Kelly can do the same things he did at ND and have success at LSU…. Well, good luck with that.

Ok bitch. Arkansas will always suck. You have a dumber Ed Orgeron in charge. Doomed to fail and your program peak is 8-4.

Are you mad? You sound mad. Arkansas runs a relatively clean athletic program, which in SEC football means we rarely compete with teams like Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. For whatever reason, we run fairly well with LSU and Auburn, and I'm okay with that.

I'm just trying to point out that BK will have more talent to play with, but he won't only be playing 1 or 2 decent teams every year, which has helped keep the rankings high, and get ND into the playoffs. If that twists your knickers, I guess you'll just have to get good with it.

Zero conference titles vs 3 national titles since you turned 40. Stop running with us so well, it's getting me mad.

WAT. You haven’t been close to a national championship but LSU has 3 in 17 years

Arkansas’ win in OT in an up year for the Hogs and a down year for LSU broke a 5-game losing streak. LSU hasn’t had a losing season since 1999. Arkansas is coming off 4 straight losing seasons and 6 in a 9 year stretch. I’m not sure what fantasy world that is you are living in where that equates to “run(ning) fairly well with LSU.”

I don’t know what this even means or what it has to do with the topic at hand, but okay.

Since 2001, Arkansas is 7-14 vs LSU, 8-13 vs Auburn. Considering that that includes the worst 10 year stretch in Arkansas football history, a national championship for Auburn and multiple national championships for LSU, I think most would say that is running pretty well with both.

It means that Kelly may have superior talent at his disposal at LSU, but he is no longer going to be playing powderpuff teams every week. He is going to have to recruit better, have better coordinators and assistants, and work harder than he has ever worked if he thinks he is going to have anywhere close to the success he enjoyed at ND.

He raised ND to a level they had not been in almost 20 years. His recruiting classes were regularly the best for teams not in the South or California except for Ohio St. He was already recruiting at a high level despite the academic restrictions and geographic limitations inherent at ND. If he can do that at ND, I have no concerns about what he can do at LSU.

Did you stop to consider that it being the worst stretch in Arkansas history might just have something to do with being in the SEC and not actually being able to run with the big dogs, instead of feasting on Rice, SMU, TCU and Baylor every year?

I hope you are right. LSU being good makes it so much sweeter when Arkansas beats them. Recruiting isn't ever going to be a big problem at LSU, but much like the games now, BK is in direct competition with SEC foes. He's not in Kansas anymore, and the LSU faithful better hope he realizes it, and is not resting on the laurels of competing against Eastern Northwest School of Technology.
