Not sure why some on here are so down on Gilbert. The Texas offense improved a great deal under him in 2016. If you want a spread guy he’s a much better option than Spav.

LSU and Coach O need to conduct this OC replacement with wisdom. The fact that the hottest OC on the board in 2016 is being fired after year ONE leaves a big mark.
The "appearance-based" approach will be the methodology used. They do not want to be spurned publicly by top OC's and create (or solidify) the impression that LSU is not a upper tier destination for the top OCs, or that the Head Coach is too hard to work for on the offensive side. If the targets aren't 100% interested through back-channel contact, they will no doubt fall back to Coach E to avoid the damage to Coach O and the Program's reputation. The Admins. crave reputation, as much or more so than wins.
