This guy is a quality coach who has put WV at the top of the heap. Why wouldn't he make a logical choice if LM bolts?

Rich Rodriguez is a terrific coach and would be at the top of any prospective coaching list IF he made it known that he wanted to go anywhere other than WV. He pretty much made that clear last year. Since he's a man of high character, he won't go back on his words any time soon, and certainly not in a year when he will probably be playing for the National Championship.

he can't be making anywhere near the $ LSU might offer plus give up ther opportunity to coach in the best conference in the country.

He's about to win a national championship after playing a high school calibur schedule. Why would he come to the SEC, with a bunch of rabid arse fans who would lynch him after a 10-2 season?

yall may be right...but at this point, i'm grasping at straws....i never wanted LM from the beginning (1. Resume wasn't impressive enough 2. Wasn't first choice of the admin. After watching the last debacle, I can't get past what he has already accomplished here! Sorry!

Justifiably rabid. Did you watch the games? That 10 and 2 could just as easily have been 7 and 5. Literally, its the difference of flipping a coin between the two results. Its one thing to look at the end result and say "woo hoo! good season" and to watch every single game played and say "holy shite we barely scraped that one out". One game like that, understandable. Two, both against top tier teams? Sure. But FIVE against teams who are scraping into the bowl picture (save Florida). LSU vs. VT and LSU vs. UF its like we are two totally different teams. To me, that's reason enough to question Les' coaching ability.

Praise his record all you want, but there are some things that need fixing NOW or else next year it WILL be 7 and 5.

I agree Rodriguez would be a good choice. However, he is from WV and is a WV alum. He now has the team ready to play for NC. I don't think there is anything that could get him to leave.

plus is buyout is something like 4 million. I think lsu wants him, but i guess we will see how bad they want him considering the huge buyout.

Why would he come? Maybe for access to better dental care, but that would be it. WVA is a pretty damned good job.

Invalid argument. It could also just as easily been 12 and 0, but it is not. It is 10 and 2

If the man is looking to advance his career (and I'm not sure he is).. he would be a fool not to at least consider LSU... it is a step up...NO MATTER WHAT ANYBODY SAYS!

You're right, but it doesn't invalidate the argument. There were far too many close games against unranked opponents for us to be the powerhouse we seemed or were purported to be. When I started school, LSU was as underrated as anyone could be. My oh my how the pendulum swings.

let me say i have no problems with miles and his accomplishsments, although it is time to win the sec this year, but if the fans didn't like what miles was doing, why would they want rodriguez? he basically has been doing the same thing...in a much weaker conference with much weaker defenses

the guy has had 2 heisman candidates for 3 years no tearing it up and has 1 bcs bowl to show for it?
