porter looks like he will take a GA on defense and josh earlge, a quality control coach who was o-line coach at nicholls. also mentioned a memphis high school coach as well as former ole miss assistant hugh freeze. i thought mccarthy might end up there and yano or stud as OC

Porter will have a 5 year contract worth $750K per year. Most schools give the HC "X" amount of $'s to use. How he spends it to hire coaches is his choice. Thats why many go with high school coaches and GA's to start with in the smaller schools. Yea, I guess you could call this one a smaller school. HC's will spend more on the OC and DC.

On the one hand, if I am Porter I don't how many staffers from the 108th ranked in Total Offense I would want to bring with me. Seems like that might lead to some scrutiny that he wouldn't want right off the bat

Porter recommended Yano to Miles. I think Yano was on the Memphis staff when Porter was playing there.
