Sounds like we got another power struggle on our hands folks, buckle up

quote:

Sources tell the Philadelphia Inquirer that Eagles GM Howie Roseman has had conversations about the Jets' general manager vacancy. There's a power struggle going on in Philly, as the Inquirer says a "bitterness" has developed between Roseman and coach Chip Kelly. That was revealed Wednesday as VP of player personnel Tom Gamble, a Kelly guy, was fired. So Roseman has apparently (and surprisingly) won out for now, making the Jets conversations moot. The New York Daily News reports the Jets weren't interested in Roseman anyway -- they need a talent evaluator, not a cap guy like Roseman.

They're exceptionally stupid if they provide themselves a path to where Kelly leaves them for college football.

You mean leaves them for another NFL franchise. He hates dealing with boosters and he has less time off. He'll stay in the NFL.

Eta...if he contemplated coming back LSU would be stupid to not buy leslie out and back a truck load of money to Chip. He'd love it at LSU and he'd make Saban quit.

What major college jobs will open next year?

Ones I could see:
Notre Dame - I think B Kelly will go the NFL (maybe even this year)
Georgia
UCLA - if Mora makes a move
Miami

No matter which one it is, you can bet Trey Anastasio will have a girlfriend there, and thus the inside scoop on what's going on.

On Monday, Kelly called Gamble "an outstanding football man'' and said he did a "great job." During that same press conference, Kelly said Roseman was good at handling the salary cap.

According to people inside the organization those quotes "infuriated'' Roseman. The general manager — who has never been a scout, played the game or coached — has worked to overcome the image of being solely a salary-cap guy.

Roseman believes he has earned his job as general manager and the club's top talent evaluator. Instead, his head coach called him a glorified cap guy. Two days later, Roseman, with support from owner Jeffrey Lurie, exacted his revenge.

Not so sure LSU would get rid of the "greatest coach in school history!" Right Choctaw?

Don't think Miami can afford him based on how cheap they've been, but Kelly would be scary as hell at The U.

As I said in a post yesterday, next year the timing could be right. The timing was right for Michigan, the timing was right for Bama. and who will be the timing right for next year.
