Well, if staying at ULL for a lifetime is even a consideration for him, then he's not the guy to run a top program quite frankly. No one can be a great coach at ULL. The upside is why he would go to a top program. Pretty soon top coaches are going to be getting $15m a year. He'd have to work for 4-5 years to earn that at ULL, 3 to 4 years at a top school would have him set for life, and he can always go back down to G5 level. Once your door to get an elite job closes, it closes.

That’s not at all what I’m saying. LSU in its current state if easily a top 5-8 job. If offered I’m 99% sure he would take it if it fits what Napier is looking for.

But what every fan that has posted on here fails to recognize is that UL is paying $2M a year. 9 wins a year gets you a lifetime contract and 9 wins in this talent rich state, in the premier G5 (after 2023) conference isn’t a dead end job.

Chris Peterson remained at Boise for 7 years. He essentially had picked the exact job he wanted. Napier has the chance to do the exact same thing at UL. While getting paid $2M, winning 10 games a year and treated like a king.

Auburn fans said this is completely false.

So their fans are 100% honest on message boards?

Napier could have all of this after failing at a P5 program. He’s risking nothing, if the scenario you describe is what he’s happy with, by making the jump.

I think he needs to go somewhere that will showcase his talents in more than one big boy game a season.

If it happens, look for the next rumor to come out, now he has turned down 4 SEC job offers. lol

He doesn't have to go to TCU to leap to a top 10 program.
