Then why didn’t he replace Levi Lewis?

Lewis isn't terrible. He's mobile, has good pocket awareness, and doesn't make the big mistakes. He's not going to wow you with arm talent or accuracy. He won't be getting a sniff at the next level, but he's a good quarterback for the Sunbelt, and a qb you can win games with in that conference. He's been the starter for 4 years now and the only starting qb at UL under Napier

We respectfully disagree.

Terrible analogy.

How is this a terrible analogy? It’s very much on point. If the talking point is “no HC experience at a P5”, then why isn’t “no head coaching experience at ANY level” not fair to consider?

I'm no fan of the shitty "first round prospect" Willis either.

He is not accurate. Threw behind open receivers for the 1st down at least 3 or 4 times yesterday

Stats for Lewis

189/308 61% CMP% 2,274 YDS 18TD 4INT 59.2QBR

Not gonna blow you away. He's average for the SunBelt and rarely throws pics

In fairness, let’s look at Lewis background.

He was a 3-star athlete coming out of high school. He’s 5’10” 185 lbs.

Under Napier he’s become the all-time leader in most of UL’s QB stats.

Since he took over as full-time starter in 2019 he’s thrown 62 TD 15 INT, 7,600 yds on 62% passing. He’s won all-conference honors. Oh, and btw, he’s 32-5 as a starter.

One could say Napier’s done a hell of a job developing him as an athlete into a winning QB.

How many other ULL QBs have started 4 years?

Total stats aren't really impressive. Once again Mond is the stats leader for some Aggie stats I think we can all agree he's trash

Fair enough. Honest discussion, you make a good point.

4 years for 62 tds. Burrow did that in one season and thats the UL career record. Sunbelt football is just played differently because of the talent, and Napier's offense is predicated on that fact. His offense at Clemson scored 31 PPG until he punched Dabo.

Or most likely would not agree to his terms, which are Saban type stuff

Lewis has won a lot I'll give you that but even ULL fans seem to hate him so I don't know why he hasn't been replaced at least

Yeah he's going into negotiations like he's Saban instead of being who he actually is and is pissing everyone off

He’s actually been the starter for 3 years. And rushed for 1,000 yds during that time also, which isn’t awe-inspiring but deserving of credit.

And if you’re comparing him to a Heisman QB who had the greatest statistical season of any QB in Div 1 football history that’s a pretty high standard for any QB, lol
